So Hanny is going to carry this team?
They should gear up Kenny and let him put his money where his mouth is.........
it amazes me every year its the same people getting hurt.
Complete bummer again for Ivan. The poor guy can't catch a break. He has finally got himself healthy and back into race shape and has had crap luck 3 weeks in a row. He has not been able to get his usual top 3 starts in the mains and that is a big contributor..
The guy is a class act and cool to visit with. I talked to him at the Phoenix race and he was looking forward to a good night that was not to be.
Get better Ivan and get on the box again in this potentially crazy season!
Wait...IT9 will not be racing due to a broken finger? He has got to be kidding.
@Pizzacorner: No one said he will not be racing this weekend. It's just an update on his injury.
hey deuche, have you ever broken a finger? i sure as fu&k aint skimming sx whoops with a busted finger!
Crap!!! The list is growing. Not a good thing. I think we all hate it when the riders get injured. Get well soon Ivan!!!
I ripped the end of my ring finger off when I hit the deck while holding on to my bars- The clutch lever pinched it so hard it exploded off to the bone. Some how they stitched back on and made me a little metal cage so that I could race the next weekend! Nothing like hitting the local supercross track on codeine! He'll be there.
Maybe you're out with a thumb, but you race with a busted finger... especially a ring finger. You don't even need those.
BRING BACK 2 SROKES. Too many riders getting hurt on 4t
hmmm that is funny because i remember falling on my 2 stroke just like i fall on my 4 stroke. and i seem to recall watching plenty of bad crashes on 2 strokes in proffesional races too. but i believe you man seeing as how you have so much evidence to back up your claim............
Pull my finger.....
.....*crop dusted*
I find it interesting that when the same guys crash over and over and over again and get injured constantly, it's like "I feel bad for him" and "oh man, that's bad luck". When James washes out his tire it's like "He's out of control" lol - That's quite a double standard.
In all fairness TPowell82.........no other "top" rider has injured as many people as JS. He has sort of earned that reputation of being out of control, I haven't seen that this year yet though. Falling in corners isn't wreckless it's all the other incidents in the past so now people cut him no slack.
I think not racing because of a broken finger is pretty soft, I mean, you've got four other ones. It would be different if it were his index or middle, but it isn't. He should definitely be out there, especially with how much time he has already missed recently.
First of all it doesn't say he is not racing...
and Second, since it seems most of you don't ride or have any idea what it takes to hold on to a motorcycle as it blitzes through whoops, here it is:
Most riders keep their index and middle finger on the clutch at all times, which only leaves the ring finger, pinky, and thumb to hold on to the bike. (ever notice why grips twist at the end of the bar?) The ring finger does most of the work since the pinky finger has almost no strength. So why don't one of you critics hop on a 450 and pin it through the whoops in 4th gear and only use your pinky and thumb to hold on to the bike. Good luck with that one. At a local race... sure, brace it up and go out there and ride. The track will be easy compared to a professional supercross track.
Sorry to hear about Ivan's injury. I hope he heals up quick because the more fast guys we have out there, the better the racing is for us fans to watch!
It is no good to learn that someone gets hurt. But it appears that some riders get hurt much too often. Perhaps a little less throttle and a little more thinking?
Someone needs to tell Kyle "last running" Partridge there is a 20 lap main after he qualifies. His times are good, he has speed but no heart.....
He's having surgery Wednesday, three days before the race. Personally, I think it would be smart to take a week off regardless. He's not going to win the championship, so why risk it.
It seems to me that during the race broadcast, I heard it mentioned that the rider's only got 3 laps of practice. "3"! These same 3 laps are used to qualify based on your fast lap.
And we wonder why riders are getting hurt. Just who are we saving the track for?
