These are awesome. I saw Jimmy Ellis' bib for the '75 race at Tom White's museum this week. I will try to post a photo here if I can figure out how!
DC
Very nice. And they look to be in great shape for there age.
I have a brand new tee- shirt from the 1972 superbowl of motocross ...still in the bag ...original not a reprint, nope...
Awsome shot of Malherbe,(in Sweeden) maybe.ask Roger He'd know.
DC, You have any history on why it was called the "OLY" Superbowl of Motocross? I love the radio station sponsors, that Toyota has been around SX that long and the bike on fire is interesting.
oly = olympia beer.
I think "OLY" is short for Olympia Beer but I'll defer to DC.
I was all of 12 in '74 so I wasn't exactly current on the nicknames for adult beverages, especially since Olympia was a west coast regional beer.
Oly is Olympia Beer. Then it was coors beer as a sponsor.
