Thursday, January 5, 2012 | 2:20 PMWe just talked to Trey Canard--still not sure if he's racing. Hasn't ridden an SX track yet, will try today and tomorrow and see.
We will continue to track this story and update you as soon as possible.

He can go out and play it safe and get a top 10.....but I understand why he wouldnt push it either....crappy situation to be in for him I am sure...Hate to say it, but if it happened a week or 2 sooner.....Get well Trey!!
Sure hope it's go time for Trey. That would be cool...
Just hope Trey is smart and does what he feels is best for him. No need to take a major risk and blow it for the whole year. I am sure he is very delicate still.
A simple fall could ruin it. Best wishes for Mr. Canard!!!
Trey Can, Trey Can....
Man, if he can go he'll have a lot of people pulling for him. Added bonus to an already exciting night. Good luck Trey
As long as Trey doesn't hit the ground he'll be fine. Though that holds true for many of them...So with that said...Go for the W Trey...See you at A1
IDK.....................................Seems to me two weeks is too soon for what 5th place points max. Come up short or long one time or drop the front end in those whoops.
Good Luck Trey

to have ANY shot at the title he HAS to be there.
Seems so iffy to me. If he's not 100% then why risk it? He still has a shot even if he's down a race. Trust me, they'll all be down a race by the end of the season. I don't see how someone his calibre can just back it down a "little" when its go time. Back it down at the start, get tangled in the first turn mayhem. back it down in a corner, risk getting Hansened. Back it down on the jumps? What do you do, not jump them? IDK, what do I know? Trey's a smart dude and I'm sure he'll make the right decision. I'll be happy for him whatever he chooses.
BillC is correct, if he wants to be in the hunt he has to get some points in A1! Ass-u-me-ing one throw away race will get you maybe top 5 year end.
Put me on Trey's bike for this race. Nobody will be able to tell the difference. Well, not until the gate drops, anyway.
Continue to track what story? You haven't told us anything new.
Go Get Em' Trey! Colorado Springs is behind you whatever you decide.
There are bone breaks and then there are femur breaks. I love to see Trey ride. But the absolute worst thing he could do is show up at A1 and hope that it all works out. SX is not a walk-on sport. I'm no Dr. but I have to believe that a 4th break of the same femur would end his career permanently. There will be other years for a full championship campaign for Trey. I seriously hope he does not try to go on Saturday.
The problem is that Trey had been back on the bike for less than 2 weeks when he hurt himself. If you do the math he has ridden two weeks in the past six months, and probably less than six weeks in the past 9 months.
Come on whats more greuling than a press conference. If Trey survived the press conference he is defanitely in for A-1.
Cycle News says, NO. Not this weekend and he is out indefinitely
Take a night off Trey, enjoy your celebrity in the pit party pre-race, the Knothole Club and just heal. Even the best will miss one round. Let your faith carry you through the weekend.
Idon't no
