PrintWe hate to damper a great day, but it looks like veteran Michael Byrne was injured last week while getting ready for Anaheim 1.

Just to let every1 know, I did get hurt. My hub broke when I was in the whoops on Wed so I had a bad crash and broke my nose and C6.
We will continue to track this story and provide an update as soon as possible.

Thanks everybody for all the get well messages it means a lot. And just to clarify the hub on my bike was a stock hub not a talon that broke

His hub broke??? Sounds more like a Cannondale to me.
Hub broke? Or mech didnt stay on the sprocket bolts? How does a hub break to cause a crash of that proportion? Yea, put Regal on the bike...

Pre season injuries suck.
Hate to say it, at this point in your career, time to possibly hang up the boots man. C6 injuries are no joke. Hope you heal up quickly regardless.
So I guess the next questions is... What kind of hubs are they using?
Real bummer,get well soon man...I think Regal has something else already but if not...he is 10 times more promising than Byrner for anybody.

Hubs can break just like any other part on a bike. I have broken axles, wheels, triple clamps, frames, and hubs. Most people never stress a hub hard enough to break it but the top pro guys can and do.
Get well quick Burner. You are a class act and the sport can always use more guys like you in it.
