Jeffrey Herlings - Home Soil
Friday, December 16, 2011 | 9:50 AMFrom MPORA:
We took a trip over to Holland to visit the rider many are calling the greatest sand rider in the world, Factory Red Bull KTM vice world champion Jeffrey Herlings. On the evidence of this video those who claim Jeffrey to be the best in the bis on the soft stuff are not wrong. The purpose of the trip was to shoot Jeffrey on his home soil for Taylor Congdon's Moto 3 - The Movie which was released recently. For more information on Moto 3 visit www.motoxcinema.com

Looks like he does enjoy the sand, will be cool to have him in the mix someday!!
What do I think? I think there is a very good reason Mikey Neale was awarded the 2011 Videographer of the Year, because nobody brings out the blood, sweat, tears, heart and soul of what riding motocross is all about, wrapped up in a audio visual package that is equaled by none and praised by all. They just keep getting better as each one succeeds the one before, to the point that you are the benchmark by which the rest of the industry measures their efforts. Fine, fine work Sir Neale...
PS And I haven't even mentioned the Greatest Sand Rider in the free world, yet...
those sand tracks in the netherlands and belgium are gnarly. I spent some time there a while ago. can´t compare that to anything over here. straight up gnarly.
btw cool video
Speculation is not backed up by fact, if you want to be the MAN first you gotta' beat the MAN. I think we all know who the man is.
Two things: If you get squirly and go off the track there, look out! bark burn
second, they must change the filter every 3 laps there.
Best talent to emerge from the Netherlands.. And best chances to do well in the GP scene... Hopefully Everts is not a stu*d d*ck and will let him at least ride Southwick...
@Claxton.. Agree.. And plus, the sand tracks over here (NL) are not to be compared as to the US... But give the kid a break.. He's only 16... Ha.ha
@throttletwister... True.. And Horst where the video was shot... IS one of the better ones...
@whatever... The kid grew up practically on sand.. Ha,ha.. Amazing how he rides on sand tracks... Like Senna riding in the rain
Jeffery Herlings isn´t just a phenomon in sand, but he´s also brilliant on the hard stuff. You hillbillies won´t have long to wait to see how good the 17 year old wunderkind is in the soft stuff. When your overrated bums get to Lommel next MXDN, he´ll lap them all, on his 250, LOL.
He will also be the newly crowned MX2 WORLD champion by then as well.
Since the 80's there has always been a wait until next year Herlings the USA has had the pleasure of destroying Mikey boy. As long as crows do not become extinct you will have your full plate each year to chow down on.
@ Claxton, who is the man ? Caroli ? Roczen ? I don't get it !
If everything goes well for him in MX2 he should be in Southwick next year...can't wait to see the demonstration ! Maybe on the 350 to help Dungey ?
Great vid. I watched most of the GP's this year, and it looks as if Herlings will be the one to win the World Championship next season (barring any unforeseen problems of course). I would love to see him follow in Ken Roczen's footsteps and head over here for SX and Nationals in a couple years. Hopefully he makes it over for Southwick!
@Texasthierry: I think the Claxton is not referring to Rockie, because Herlings already beat him at Lommel last summer. And I don't think it's Cairoli either. I think he is referring to someone on this side of the pond on the left coast who keeps getting jinxed at his home track. That or Roger (The Man) Decoster is due for a comeback...
There is just one man who can beat Hearlings on the sand, I mean the real sand, of Holland and Belgium: that's Stewart.
Manes, don´t talk silly. Enyone hoping to beat Herlings on sand has to be able to stay on two wheels. That rules monkeyboy out.
Also De Reveur was the sand master, but when he went to Southwick he got beaten badly by Stewart, whose lap times were from 2 to4 seconds faster. DeReveur said when he came back to Europe: "How could Stewart be so fast on sand? Easy, he always kept the gas open". Stewart is still the fastest in the world.
@Euromike; Totally uncalled for comment about Stewart. Everyone thinks you're from Europe, but people from Europe don't disgrace themselves as you just did. You are a troll from under the dark and lonely bridge of your own imagination, and it is sad to see you continually embarrass yourself in public. Seriously...
