Ashley V. is the sexiest woman on the planet. Real talk.
cool to see # 956
I'm surprised that Wharton didn't pick a lower 3 digit number?
Does anybody know the significance of the number Blake is wearing this year?
Was it his Amateur rank number or something? Just wondering.
Cool pics by the way!!!
Hope to see these zooks up front more in 2012. its time for Anderson to break thru
956 was Jesse Masterpool's number. Wharton is running it in honor of him. Pretty badass I must say.
Holcomb273 Thanks for the info. I have seen a bunch of Masterpool stickers on bikes. I guess he was friends with a bunch of racers. He must have been quite a promising amateur himself. I will look up his history. Thanks again.
Nice bikes!
I predict very little from this team. Maybe 1 podium for Davalos, 2 top 5's Wharton and possibly 1 top 5 for Anderson (but i wouldnt hold my breath).
@zacka - i agree, except i think Wharton is serious podium threat, or at least if he rides east coast.
Wharton will be a podium threat indoors and out, he rode Suzuki's his entire amateur career before he did a late switch to KTM. As for Masterpool, before he passed away he was one of the few riders to straight up beat Cianciarulo. He was about to really make a big impact on the industry (as in really start winning a lot) before his crash. Godspeed 956
Strange that the official 250 Suzuki team isn't running any visible works parts. Last year they had works hubs, rotors, triple clamps, footpegs and clutch perches.
Factory Suzuki fell through, and Rockstar Suzuki didn't get any wins (or podiums?) in 2011, so they probably lost that support.
Yeah, that sounds likely. I was thinking that it's also probably about money on the team's end. From what I understand, factory teams have to buy works parts from Japan. Aftermarket suppliers either pay the team or at least give them what they need for free. It's possible they realized that they were paying through the nose for parts that didn't give them a significant advantage on the track. Belt tightening is in these days.
Also, Wharton skipped mx for surgery and earned no points that COUNT TOWARDS A NUMBER this year even though he scored points in sx, but because its a regional series (birthplace not meaning SHIT towards what coast you race) somehow you don't get a number even if all you can afford to race would be sx. BS!!!
