Reed Captures Genoa SX Title
Sunday, November 20, 2011 | 11:05 AM
Australian Supercross star Chad Reed has taken out Italy’s Genoa Supercross after finishing the two moto’s second and first.
The event, which was Reeds first race in 10 weeks, also marked the first event for newly appointed Technical Director Mike Gosselaar under the TwoTwo Motorsports banner.
Reed won his heat race but a first turn melee in the opening 15-lap final left him back in the pack. The Australian thrilled the Italian crowd, coming through the field to second.
Reed won the final 15-lap race ahead of race one winner Justin Barcia and was awarded the overall.
“I had a great time out there,” Reed said. “It was good to get a couple of races under my belt and see where I am at with my preparations for 2012.
“The track was tight so it was important to get good starts. I had a crash in the first race but still came through to second.
“As a team we learnt a lot and it will definitely help our preparations for 2012,” Reed added.
Reed will now return to the United States to continue testing ahead of the opening round of the 2012 AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium on Saturday 7th January.

And Antonio Cairoli ducks another race against legit competition. Ok so the world GP's do have some talent, but the best are here. Congrats Chad... would like to see you take the supercross title this year.
Come on guys, we're hungry for these results as there is no other mx/sx going on now. Found the results at motoxaddicts not to mention video of both races in full about 8 hours ago.... RacerX your better than that c'mon. Also, Ben Townley is signed for Austrailian MX next year, it's been out for about 48 hrs now, thought you might like to know.
Honestly not to be a dick but wasn't this expected? I mean there was Barcia and that was about it, yeah good job to Chad but it's bot like there was a lot of competition. But like I said good job to Chad and good job to Barcia!
could anyone after Barcia and Reed make the night program here??
jford199 - thanks for the info - went to motoxaddicts and watched the 2 mains - i have the site on my favorites now - that pass by reed was classic - glad i got to see it
good job Reed!! Nice tune up for next season! Loved the block pass on Justin. He looked a little miffed on the podium.
No one but Reed and Barcia in this race would make the main event here in the USA @ a SX.... Thats a fact Jack..
