The 2011 Lake Elsinore Grand Prix took place last weekend. After a good amount of rain the week leading up to the race, and the morning of, the course was in prime condition. Our very own Matt Francis, and his friend Bob, put on some GoPro cameras to take you along for the ride.

Boring, Why didnt they just ride street bikes ? nothing but hi way roads
Too bad the city of Lake Elsinore had to eff the race off and not run it through the hills and down main street anymore.
Let me get my 6 tooth rear sprocket and I believe I've got myself a win. Gay
what a bunch of complainers. first, it is a grand prix. second, with all these comments do you knock races like the 1000? that's wide open as well. waaaah, take your crying somewhere else, it's moto!
@wadehenderson I agree, i quit racing it when they moved it to the lake bottom and the organization went to crap. I had the opportunity to race Baggett in my class like 4 years in a row, it was fun as hell! it's not the same anymore... with Goat/GFI being gone, no bueno.
its more of a fun event than a competition....If you are a novice you can enter expert and most likely kill it..Lots of 15 year old bikes with huge bellies bouncing up and down on the gas tanks.. But it is lots of fun in the pits camping out having fun..Still a great time...
It's a fun event, not an all out race to see who can break their leg first ! DU
You Californians all suck at riding!!
Californians suck at riding? come on out to perris on a mid week practice..bring some tear offs....you gonna need em...I guess thats why no one tries to qualify for loretta regional quals out here cuz its too easy...hahahaha.. top 5 kids out here usually go to the ranch and finish the same running order 1-5..with a few exceptions usually from texas or oklahoma..the rest are wondering why the cali kids lapped em...thats why mx families move here....you win in cali you win anywhere period ....the elsinore gp is for desert guys and vet riders.
Blah blah blah...all i will see at a perris practice is a bunch of tattooed spodes with blacked out bikes rockin the Metal Mulisha graphics with free-ride gear. Where are the top 5 or even 10 racers in the world from?? Not Cali, just a bunch of posers out there. Youre best rider right now according to results is Mike Alessi...enough said. Not one of the champions from 2011 are from California, what does that tell you.
@ronnieblowhard
Come to Perris MX and I guarantee you most of there will wax your ass on any given day.
Posers with freeride gear and blacked out bikes? F'ing comical kook.
I would probably lap just about everybody there.
@ronniebarnhardt
fool i dare you to come out to perris and try and keep up with everyone... trust me you wont! haha everyone who lives in cali knows that if your gonna go to perris, you better be fast or else you'll prolly get landed on.. and its funny how you say theres no good pros here.. well how come 95% of all pros live and train in cali?? oh yea thats right.. cause we have some of the best tracks in the world and your jealous cause you dont get to ride them hahaha i'd hate to be you!!
Guys... There's an old addage: Never argue with an idiot.
People listening will not be able to distinguish which one is which.
nice vid - i can actually hear the bikes - i am shocked and amazed - good job matty
I thought the vid was pretty sweet. No rap music, just the bikes, and looks like a fun time. Just because there aren't any 90ft doubles doesn't mean it is boring. I would love to see some of you negative Nancys go on any sort of a GNCC race and call it boring.
BTW - In regards to Perris Raceway, every time I am there I see a lot of fast guys.....doing all of the jumps, spoding in the corners, with blacked out bikes wearing Metal Mulisha gear. They are fast hauling to the next jump so they can do their little piddly one handers landing them and looking around to see if anyone thought they were cool.
Perris used to be where the fast guys go. Not anymore.
@Rednickrider...thanks for confirming what I was saying...it is like that at every track in America, I'm guessing more so in Cali, at least from what I see in videos...its funny how I can totally mess with people and they fall right into it and get all pissed off...like I really know what its like at one track in Cali, I live over 2000 miles away, lol
