The Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team Welcomes Back Davi Millsaps

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Veteran Davi Millsaps has re-signed with the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team for the 2012 racing season.  Millsaps, who claims nine amateur national titles, a Lites Supercross Championship, wins in the premier class and numerous podium finishes will join James Stewart in completing the 2012 Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team.

“Davi is really talented, but has been saddled with injuries the past couple of years.  I think this is going to be a really good year for him,” said Coy Gibbs, President of the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team.

“I am glad Davi chose to remain in the Joe Gibbs Racing family, he was riding really well until his knee injury at Red Bud where he led half the first moto,” commented team manager Jeremy Albrecht.  “He is fully recovered from the subsequent surgery and I feel is as prepared as he has ever been starting a new season,” he added.

“I have a lot of confidence in the people who make up this team, and my Yamaha is really dialed in year.  With my fitness where it should be I think we are going to have the strongest team out there,” said Millsaps.

Millsaps and his teammate Stewart will begin the AMA Supercross Championship Series Jan. 7, 2012 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim. Calif.

I was happy last year when this signing happened. It doesn't matter though. Millsaps just doesn't care anymore....

jgmotox201 dude you are so quick to judge but you really have no idea what Davi has been through! A negative guy like yourself wouldn't have made it through even one of the hardships Davi has endured! Leave your judgement where it belongs pal, which I can assume is best suited for your preffered sport of figure skating! Davi Millsaps is one FAST dude and that will be proven time and time again! Thanks to JGR for supporting Davi it will be worth it!

It's no secret that his results have been up and down, but he has shown several times that he can run up front. He's kind of a mystery to me and all i will say is it would be nice to see him get a little consistency and show what he can do! Time will tell once again!

Mystery is what I have said for years about him. How do you wax everyone one weeked than barly make top 10 the next 6? When he is on he is very fast but seems off to offten. Would like to see him make it a 6 man battle for thr title though.

BillC interesting comment I think you're not giving him enough credit. When he rode Honda if he pulled the holeshot he would be top3 most of the time, but you're probably thinking not as much competition that year. It's hard to define competition between 3 or 4 riders because most cases there's 6 or 7 that can win a moto. Some riders who get good starts can hang in for the whole race. Good exampleTrey Cannard.
The short story is competition is going to be very deep like last year. Which is probably why JS7 had such a tough series more riders are going fast harder to work your way through the pack.
Should be great racing again.

He is 100% percent healed up from his injuries and has reportedly lost 20 lbs. So if he can get his head on straight he could run near the front.

Tell you what BONES...I am not a negative guy here, just a realist. I know Davi is FAST dude. What will not happen is consistency of any type, races or championships. Sorry I offended Millsaps' BFF BONES.....and just how in the world did you know I was a professional figure skater.......erriee

JaminGeorge not really about the comp. A few years back he won 1 or 2 SX races and most of the others he was running 4th tru 9th I think. Same outdoors he won and then did not so well. IT9 was the same back then at Honda. Killed both moto's one week then out of the top 5 the next. My point is you don't see that from guys like RV,RD,JS, Reed. Saps just seems real hot or real cold never consistent.

BillC I'm going out on limb but I think he's due for a good year with more consistancy like the riders you mentioned.
Really I just want to see very tight racing like last year, but i want more. I want more riders in the hun.

@ jgmotox201, having spent some good quality time with Davi a few years back and actually getting to know what makes him tick its just really hard to read all this smash talk about the guy. I can tell you he works very hard and absolutely lives to win races. Davi is still very young and has a long career ahead of him still, I believe he will find the consistency soon enough. LMAO at your reply to my figurer skating comment...your alright! Cheers
