Tuesday, October 25, 2011 | 8:50 PM
With the news that JGR Yamaha has signed James Stewart to a three-year contract, I called up JGR team manager Jeremy Albrecht to get his take on how the deal went down, what's next for the team, and how this is all going to shake out.

What makes you think James Stewart doesnt like racing outdoors? If im not mistaken he was the last person to pull a perfect outdoor season. Probably the last ever.

james needs to keep his "fastest man on the planet" going or he will not be getting nearly as much attention or coin from sponsers.. He needs to set fastest lap at every supercross (which he can do) But he know he cant hang with the ryans and chad in outdoors, probably would finish 30 seconds back and he knows he cant afford to take that risk.

He would be making more money if he didnt race outdoors. Hes pretty smart money wise, just doesnt have the true heart of a racer.

Sounds like JS7 can do whatever he wants which is what all racers want.....their main focus is the SX title and if things are good he'll race outdoors too I guess....Hopefully things are good and he is happy and we see him outdoors....

Now dont forget while you rant on James not racing outdoors, JS7 wasnt contracted to race outdoors with L&M / San Manuel...just like Reed only raced SX while with that team and MC while with Brooks/ Chapparal.....and just like Reed in 2010, when he dropped out of the season because "he wasnt happy and thinks were not right" with Kawasaki, JS7 didnt race the outdoors for that reason.....Reed wasnt contracted to race outdoors with Suzuki either...but decided to race because " things were good " and he was having fun win or lose.....when your having fun and winning things are great...if your having fun and not winning...you are still having fun.....I see a happy James right now, so only time will tell.....I never understood why MC started this SX only thing since I grew up racing MX....but hey, these guys have been racing their entire life and they make their own decisions and NONE of us know what they deal with....so we can be disappointed or upset....but in the end, its their call....

I think that J-Bone and JGR in general will be for James. As long as he is open to their guidance he will do well in 2012.

pretty harsh berm blaster, " doesn't have the heart..." apparently you haven't seen James race much, I think he races with more heart than anyone out there.
You are probably just trolling anyhow, cause your whole line of reasoning is completely stupid.

@ride2 - Indeed.... Some of these guys dont know what heart is....one word.... DAYTONA....if that wasnt heart, I dont know what is.....

If you dont understand the business and have not raced at their level, than you will not understans....MC was the king of SX and barely raced outdoors, Reed followed suit and only raced SX for a few years? Why didnt Reed race in 2008 when JS7 went 24-0 ? I dont here people crying about that......For me, I would like to see JS7 race outdoors since those are his roots...he came up through the amateurs like RC, K-Dub and RV and that to me is what MX is all about....That is where they gained their talent to eventually turn pro and race SX....but in the end....its their decision.....James obliterated the competetion on 125's outdoors had a 24-0 season outdoors and had an epic season racing the GOAT outdoors while they left Chad Reed and the rest in the dust......Now if you think he couldnt still run with Reed outdoors now, you are silly...RV is a step up over RD and Reed and JS7 may or maynot be able to hang with RV....hopefully we will see....if he doenst feel like racing outdoors...I guess he wont...

@KilloMoto... MC never was really into the outdoors... And was more focused on Supercross... he mentioned it several times on interviews and in his book, he wanted to prolong his career...
@bermblaster... Makes some sense... James is just too much into money... Which is a shame... MC always said... He never was really into the money... (Knowing his deals in his biography.. It's a farce compared to what they are earning today...)
As long as you win, the rest will come automatically....
I guess, Stewie wanted to make sure he gets something like what Dungey or Cairoli is getting...

@ bermblaster, maybe you need to get some "heart" ? AT the top level it takes all the heart you have to make it. the 3 ingrediants are Desire.(heart) talant and Luck the last one is elusive to all.
I am ready for A ONE !!!

@didleldsylong - True, MC wasnt into outdoors, mainly because he wasnt good at like he was SX...but he grew up racing MX, not SX.......So I guess my question is, if JS7 isnt "into" outdoors anymore....especially after his successes outdoors he has has already ....why is he considered a p*ssy...or has no heart.... when others have not raced either with much less success ....Neither MC or Reed had 2 x 125 titles and or dominate 450 titles like James has had....so they didnt race outdoors but yet they are hero's

Again, I want to see JS7 out there in the MX..... I dont know what I would do in their position....but MC didnt race outdoors, Reed didnt race outdoors for years, K-Dub didnt race outdoors...... so why when JS7 doesnt race, he is burned at the stake...whether or not they race is up to them and I wont lose sleep over it...but some folks get pretty fired up......

@Trend Killer.. Good point... I guess why JS is being called many names for not riding the outdoors...
a. He has never been very straight forward on his plans regarding the outdoors... (For the last couple of yrs, we have been hearing he will ride 4 races in outdoor... But his contract was a SX only contract?)
b. For the die hard motorcross fans.. MX is basically an essential part of the racing dirtbikes scenery... So I remember when past riders chose to ride SX only.. They did get lambasted for that.. (MC, K-Dub, Mike L, Reed)
I know, Stewie has his own right whether to divulge his plans to the fans... MC back in the days bit the bullet when he announced he went SX only... I was a MC fan, I did not mind t the time... Was even the more happier when he continued on winning in SX.... Even though some magasines were already criticizing MC for such a deal.. Ha,ha (Internet wasn't as big back then then now)
