Langston Announced as Öhlins USA Team Manager for 2012

Thursday, October 13, 2011 | 10:05 AM
Hendersonville, North Carolina: Öhlins USA is proud and excited to confirm motocross star Grant Langston as Team Manager for the 2012 Team Öhlins USA Supercross team.

Langston’s considerable credentials include multiple championships in World and AMA Motocross and Supercross, qualifying him as a leader with authority in the challenging realm of motocross. Championships earned by Langston include the 125 MX World Championship, both the 125 East and West AMA Supercross Lites championships, the 125 AMA Motocross Championship, the US Open Supercross, and, of course, the 2007 450 Motocross championship.

Langston will be present this weekend at the October 15, $1,000,000 Monster Energy Cup, invitation-only races, taking place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, Langston will be cheering on 2011 AMA Motocross Team Öhlins USA rider A.J. Catanzaro, whose overall season results earned him a gate at this prestigious event.

Stacey Berger, Öhlins USA Off Road Manager said, “We’re excited to have Grant coming on board. I can’t think of anyone better to take Team Öhlins USA to the next level. Grant has helped us with testing as well as working with our riders, so we know how great his work ethic is, and how much he’s going to bring to the table for the team. This is going to be a great year for us.”

Grant Langston said, “Being a team manager was a goal of mine. In planning what to do when I was done racing, this is it. It’s something I fit in well with: working with young talent, helping riders grow. I think I’ve got the personality for it. I met Stacey when I was racing because he approached me about using Öhlins suspension. We stayed in contact, last year I helped with the team’s rider training. I put out feelers about being a team manager and then this all fell into place. The timing was perfect. It’s a good group of people and I’m looking forward to committing myself to this.

For the 2012 Supercross and Outdoor seasons. Team Öhlins USA will be competing in the East AMA Supercross Lites Championship series, and the 450 class in the Outdoor Championship, with riders and sponsors to be announced soon.

Öhlins USA distributes and services the world’s leading performance suspension for automobiles, motorcycles, and ATVs. Öhlins develops its proprietary and innovative suspension components at the highest levels of racing from open-wheel car racing, to Moto GP, to off-road competition on two and four wheels. Öhlins USA also provides training for service centers and dealers. Öhlins USA can be contacted at: 828-692-4525; www.Ohlinsusa.com

just in a nick of time you aint kidding! i am sure he is just about out of money! he had a lot of realestae/buisness investments that becuse of bad market/economey and getting hurt and the eye cancer all at the wrong time, cost him a ton of potential future income.throw on top of that a divorce and child support,it would be enough to make me jump off of a building.the guy shoulid have had another 3-5 year carear thats 2-5 million, iam sure thats what he was thinking.anyway good to see him get a shot at what he knows, we all know he is a fighter thats what champs do!

The Öhlins USA team rider selection has yet to be finalized. If you're a fast pro, send them a racer resume'. West or east coast!
