MTF Riders Shine at Australian Junior's
Three riders from Millsaps Training Facility (MTF) competed in the recently completed 2011 Honda Australian Junior Motocross championships held at the famous Murray Bridge track in New South Wales. Accompanied by Colleen Millsaps, the three, Jordon Smith, Keith Tucker and native Australian Hayden Mellross, combined to win four titles.
Jordon Smith won two championships (100-150cc 13-U15’s and 250cc 13-15 years classes), Keith Tucker one (85cc 14-U16) and Hayden Mellross another (200-250cc 15yrs).
The final day was sunny and dry for the first time all week and Jordon Smith finished by winning his third main moto in the 100-150cc and then held off Joel Dinsdale from Queensland for a 2nd title in the 250cc 13-15 yr class.
Keith Tucker will enjoy his first national title after winning two of the five mains to edge out Mitchell Landy from Victoria. Ahead four points in the final moto Keith, despite a fall, was never really threatened.
The last class of the week was the 200-250cc 15yrs and Australian Hayden Mellross, who lives at MTF, won two motos and came 2nd in the other to take the title from Hamish Harwood of New Zealand.
Congratulations to all three riders.
