i thought i did pretty well for basically missing the whole outdoor searies due to injury...but its not the first time iv been looked over
Jarred Browne went under - under the radar. Great ride man, I think people tend to forget that you earned that 53.
What about Austin Howell? Bumped up on the 450 and ran in the top 10 for most of the second moto. I thought he looked amazing, but I'm biased for my local pros.
These "under the radar" segments are great, its a nice little shout out for some of the under dogs. Unfortunetly sometimes guys do get missed aka Jarred Browne but just keep plugging away boys your day will surely come. Just a quick note to Paul, Faciotti was running 2nd early in the first moto not a high of 6th, no biggy as I appreciate you giving props to my fellow Canadian. I hope this segment continues on through the 2012 supercross season, nice work Paul your a ton easier on the ears then some other broadcasters........
Cool shoot for sure. But what I'm wondering is when are we gonna see a big write-up on who got the privateer of the year award? If I've known who it is for almost a week now, how can Racer-X not know? To me this is a very special tribute to the guys out there bustin' butt at the grass roots level givin it there all for a chance at some good support. And this honor should get some serious attention considering the number of privateers and only one deserving person gets it. D. C. ????????? thanks
Cool vid. I like seeing the race/results from a different perspective. Hopefully Colton heads down south next year and races in the AMA where he belongs.
Jarred, you are absolutely right and I apologize. I actually had you in my notes from the day but, not to make excuses.....let’s just say that when we shoot that segment I am the definition of exhausted (at Pala especially - as you can see by me closing my eyes every 10 seconds - thanks to my cousin for pointing that out and making me feel even more like babbling idiot that I already feel lol). I tend to not be at my best when we shoot that segment after a loooong (and this year usually HOT) day, but it is the only way to do it, and sometimes I just miss some stuff that I meant to say. You definitely ran solid all day and would have been a perfect fit for this.
I’ve read these replies all season and I want to thank everyone for the props and apologize to those who had a favorite rider that didn’t make it. We only have so much time each week and I try to cram in as many as possible, but I also try to hold a pretty high standard too. For example, if a buddy of mine from Colorado ran inside the top ten for a few laps, but then faded outside the top 20, I would have been SO pumped for him and excited but I really don’t consider that a “solid ride”. I think this is actually the first week that I broke my own rule and put in a couple of guys who actually DID fade. This whole idea came about by me seeing a privateer guy pushing forward and working his butt off the WHOLE moto and eventually finishing 13th. He didn’t get lucky, he didn’t fade, he rode an incredible race and it went more or less unnoticed. Those types of rides blow my mind; when a guy not only isn’t necessarily supposed to be up that high but he stays there!! That’s motocross! That being said, I also caught some flack for putting in guys who weren't privateers, but this was never intended to be a privateer showcase; a great ride is a great ride. As I mentioned the first week; Jason and I talk a lot about the top three guys, but sometimes the guys from 4th back go completely unnoticed.
Anyhow, just a little insight, and these are of course just my opinions and a little bench racing fun. I’m sure that I missed some good ones throughout the season because I just can’t catch them all (although I did see a few examples of people complaining that someone got over looked, but what the person didn’t realize was that particular rider was just on the segment the week before lol). As the old saying goes; you can’t please everyone! Those of you who know me however, know how much I try (foolishly) to do just that, so thanks again for watching and sorry if I missed someone!!
Keep an eye out for the “Under the Radar Season” segment that we’re working on which should be a lot of fun! There were a few riders who had really spectacular seasons and I can’t wait to bench race with you all about them!
Paul
P.S. Bones; I actually did say Colton was running second, I just said it after I said he ran as high as 6th lol (see the part above where I felt drunk while shooting the Pala segment lol).
@ D.C. ??????? Still waiting!!!!!!!!!
