.USA had a 2
.Italy a 4
.France a 5

.There could be some individuals who do well but the USA will be hard to beat, France ahs 2 very fast guys like Italy but there #3 guys not so much but with a start Cairoli for sure could win a moto. Track is so short its a joke too. Starts will be key.

Bet it gets watered to hell and back tonite. Hope that today's ride gets Baggetts confidence up knowing he did so well. I was worried he might be a little down on himself going in but it looks like he stepped it up.

I like how they told RV to back it down about 8 laps in. He was motoring away and then he let his lap times go up by about 5 or 6 seconds and sat on that the rest of the race.

AC222 is going to be a bear. I can see he taking a moto. I'm betting Roger puts Baggett on the 21st gate pick and not RD so RD can get off the gate with Tony. That could be a tight one there.

Too bad Team Kuwait and China didn't make the B finals. LOL

@MIGHTY

You may be right about Cariolli. This is why RV should be riding MX1 !
He's a little faster when he needs to be and way more aggressive! Oh ya. He's also the Champ!

People are still whining about who's in which class. We just qualified 1-1-1!!! Sorry to you cheap bastards who didn't get to watch the races. I look forward to planting my ass in front of my 50" Samsung tomorrow morning for the main event. GO USA!!!

Yeah that's a good point but too late now. with Roger D being the team manager and Ryan D being Roger's boy..... Plus RD has been the MX1 guy the past to MXDN's and the defending MXDN Champ..... Plus Speed wise, RD and RV have been really close this year, I'd say Ryan D can get the job done. You know he won't quit and you know he can bring the heat.

I think where we need to worry is the idea that Baggett is going to get the worst of the gate picks. I hope they have the PC250F turned all the way up! I know BB can roll out and proved it once again today, but a bad start will make it tough, he may have to pull a Johnny O to get thru the pack. Plus I'll bet GB will put Deano on their first gate pick as well as Ken. I'm not sure what France will do with Marvin. Will he get their first or second pick?

Baggett will be fine. These are longer moto's and he will get stronger as it goes. He also is very good at picking alternate lines as he comes through the pack and that is what this track will be all about. Ciarolli and Roczen were running those lines too. Italy's looking better that I thought with thier back up rider. Sunday should be good racing.

I was surprised that Dunge couldn't gap Cairoli--he pressured him the whole moto-and almost got him more than once. I guess we'll see tomorrow morning if Cairoli does another one of his final 5 minute charges. Bagget won by more than 10 seconds!! Awesome ride for Benjamin Button!!! RV2 the next GOAT! Go team USA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pumped for it, should be great, too bad this is kind of it till SX starts up. I hope next season is as exciting as this one has been. Winning the MXDN will be the icing on the cake if the boys can get it. Chances are good.

Stop calling anyone the "next GOAT." Think about what that stands for and hopefully you'll realize how idiotic you sound. Not to mention RV (as good as he is), has 10% of the resume RC has..

China didn't qualify? Time to party!

Profile Picture
MIGHTY wrote: 2:50pm September 17, 2011

technically RV has 33% of the Resume that RC has as far as national championships go.

MIGHTY wrote: 3:08pm September 17, 2011

RC 3-3 for mxdn, RV 3-0 and possibly 4-0 after tomorrow. even tho the GOAT will always be the GOAT.

@ Bill C Can Cairolli run with the ryans?YES he can. He was on Dungey the whole time. Almost looked like he didnt want to pass. We will find out tomorrow. I have to say tho RV looks untouchable out there. Honestly I dont see anyone getting close to Villopoto. Pourcel said he was saving energy for tomorrow so we will find out. As for Reedy, i dont know what to say, get back from that crash already

Does anyone know if Tony is riding a 350 or 450? If he's riding a 350, I think that's a pretty impressive showing for KTM...

If Kuwait was smart, they'd start a program where they would send their best 10-15 riders to the US and have them spend time here (racing, training, etc...). Think about it, do you think it'd be difficult to come up w/ the cash to hire someone like Marty Smith, Donnie Hansen, Gary Bailey, or Ryan Hughes to sit there with their riders and establish a program? They can swing the money for a training facility here in the US, certainly afford good equipment and if they got one of the guys mentioned above training/working with them, they could make the B final in a couple of years and advance their motocross program at home in the process. It'd be interesting to see if they could do it...

Cairoli prooved that the 350 is a fantastic machine! I have been reading when you americans talk shit about the 350 and that Andrew Short should go for the 450. But as we saw to day, Cairoli was 2nd in the start in mx1. so please, dont blame the KTM blame the rider!

Profile Picture
cfr692 wrote: 5:25pm September 17, 2011

I think that the 350 is a great machine as well, although at a slight disadvantage when compared straight-up to a 450 at some tracks, and in some situations (while at an obvious advantage in other areas). Regardless, I applaud KTM for exploring the fringes and giving the 350 idea a try! I wasn't trying to make any negative remarks at all.

Wel one thing is sure. If villopoto gets a decent start and dont crash he takes 1-1 but you shouldn't be so sure about baggett and Dungey.

And villopoto didn't even get by hearlings. Hearlings did ride with 3th gear the whole race, i think he said that the gear shifter was broken.

Claxton wrote: 9:54am September 18, 2011

I hope the next race they don't put Dungey in front of Villapoto we would like to at least win one moto. Putting Baggett in front of RV cost us the win as RV had the quickest lap and speed times.

Profile Picture
Claxton wrote: 10:19am September 18, 2011

RV did not come from behind in the first moto because of that gate which cost the USA 2 points. Dungey had his chance and all he could do was third. It will be a miracle if the USA wins now and it was bad enough RV was MX3 so I hope it is not compounded by 2 give away gates and ruin his personal experience along with the teams. Dungey getting passed by the Kid on the mini bike certainly tells us something. If you ride MX1 then you should be the in the back or swap number plates before the race begins. LOL
