Pourcel to Replace Frossard on French MXoN Team
Tuesday, September 13, 2011 | 11:15 AM
Just days after the announcement that Monster Energy Yamaha's Steve Frossard would be pulling out of the 2011 Motocross of Nations with a chest injury, multiple French sources are reporting that Kawasaki CLS’ Christophe Pourcel will fill in for the injured Frossard. This comes as no surprise as Pourcel has been riding at such a high level since the announcement came that he would be left off the French team. Stay tuned for an official PR.

Not a huge fan of him lately but I think Pourcel is going to shock some people with his riding if he is feeling it........
COOL. I would love to see if he has anything for RD or RV
With any luck RV punts him to the Eiffel Tower
He will have nothing for RD_RV. He is good for one moto at best and he is still proving it this year. He is a great rider and puts out the best he has.
Finally.. It's official.. Well, this will be CP's opportunity to prove himself.
And if Paulin rides as well as he did the last race... France should be locking up 2nd place! Behind the USA.. Ha,ha!
Well, we know he is faster than Dungey. Twice the motos won, twice the laps led, twice the fastest laps, etc, when they raced. Conditioning will be his problem, plus way less time racing a 450.
Really head to head pourcel beat Dungey twice as many times? Oh, and I"m pretty sure they haven't raced eachother on big bikes.
They raced on big bikes... for a few laps, RD and many others beat him pretty easily. I hope he does well for his country all the same. Not to well of course lol. Go USA!
Uh oh!
Ha ha ha. France will kick your ärses, you bunch of whiney girls. It´s just lucky you don´t have to take on the USE (United States of Europe) in a fair contest, but you wouldn´t want that as you just might lose. LOL.. No matter, the little state of France is gonna show you who´s boss. LMAO.
Go Pourcel, go Paulin, go Marvelous Marv (although I´d rather have Boog in MX3 and Paulin in MX2). Marvelous Marv has been racing in USA too long and has got fat, lazy and slow. It´s true.
USA USA USA. LOL.
France will be tough, CP will need to put on his big boy panties for both moto's though. The French have the advantage, They know the track and there home thats big. RV and RD are the best in the world right now justy hope they get clean starts... if so it could be over quick as long as the Good BB shows up. Can't wait to see Roczen on a 450.
If you follow the MX1 races you will see that Pourcel is riding a lot more comfortable in Kawasaki than with the Valli Yamaha, no comparison possible... it looks like 2009 riding style!!!
Since he has returned to Europe he has been developing de KX 2012 to his liking and that shows on the track!!
The biggest question will be his fitness I think, maybe he doesn't have the rithym of the Ryan's for the whole of the race!!!
Euromike I undertsand what you say about the USA having a big pool to choose from, but if Europe could have one big team please name two 450 riders in all of Europe faster than Dungey and Villopoto? The "world's best" are consistently beaten by Americans at races worldwide in the 450 class. The 250 class is not dominated by Americans, but the best 250 riders in the world still race in the USA.
it woudl be interesting to look at last several years as if USA vs USE. Not sure who might have the info to do so. With so many top individual finishes, I think USA would still win a bunhc of them? Would be more fair though, i suposse. this argument reminds me of a Swedish friend who always wants to compare Olympic medal counts in a 'per population' kind of way.
Will be very interesting to see how CP does. But disagree with Elsinore saying we know he is faster than Dungey. That is like saying (5 yrs ago) that we know Alessi is faster than RV because he beat him (for the most part) up to that point. Being faster a few yrs ago doesn't mean faster today. I think the Dunge has grown just a tad - and CP has gone a bit backwards, if anything, since then.
You Pourcel fans are dillusional - comical really.
And as for the "little state of France" How about we field a team from Florida and California....Uh-Oh!
@Retardcross
tony cairoly clement desalle,
last year he went to the states and finished right behind rd.(without a good prep)
but the fatest guy in the 250 is a scotts man.do you know were scotland is???
then we have a kid called k roc and the bullit aka the flying dutchman,
i also think the us will win but they dont sweap the field by winning everyting.
then we have that guy you usa boys call the fastest guy in the world aka bubba.
who got beaten by an old guy called stefan everts.passing the "fastest" guy going around him on the outside of the track.that was amazing.
then we have the 250 ama championship.
wilson won the championship.than we have a south african, then bagget, and a moto win by swanepoel ,last called NEVER WILL WIN A MOTO IN THE GPS!!!!
dont get me wrong i love to see the ama races and the tracks are awesome but dont say that you have the fastest riders in the world because it aint so.best team?thats true.but i really hope that france will win, that will be nice because they should have won in donington park if it wasnt of that mecanical faillure of a member of the frence team. but we will see this sunday.
@Elisinoreracer, we dont care what Pourcel did in the 250 class, How many times did Pourcel beat Dungey on the 450? , which is what they will be riding at the Des Nations.
And nowq we have to put up with Irishrag Mike again, too bad, it was nice and grown=up around here while he was gone.
@ henk..................Cairoli? Whatever, point out how you see him beating the top American 450 riders, all I see is results opposing that. DeSalle gets a 2nd place at one AMA national with no RV or Reed there and now he's faster than all of the current guys? Interesting. And don't give me the no prep crap, that RMZ 450 had years of Carmichael and Reed on it, that bike was probably one of the best on the track even for a one weekend setup. Throwing the Stewart thing in our face is retarded considering noone even likes him anymore and he IS NOT the fastest 450 rider as he self-proclaims. Carmichael was and he dominated Everts repeatedly. Regarding the 250 class you apparently don't comprehend what I said because I clearly stated that the American riders are not dominant in the American 250 series. Yes I know where Scotland is dipsh*t, I'm not an American and know what the map of the world looks like. I grew up racing Deano in Canada when we were younger. Ken Roczen hauls and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win some here next year, but I think he is more than likely going to be on the ground trying to run the current 250 class pace in the USA. I'd love to see Deano feed it it Roczen this weekend to shut you the hell up even though I like both riders a lot. Anyone who thinks the GP series is on a higher level than the AMA series is out to lunch. I'm not saying the top GP riders aren't fast, but in the 450 class it's just dumb to say the GP riders are faster than the Americans, results don't lie. Did I forget anything? I can't wait to see RV and RD check out from everyone by 30 seconds this weekend (wishful thinking, but would prove my point haha).
Roger Decoster said ( i think it was about 2007) - When you looks that much of a favorite... that is when things can go wrong.. Bagget is far from the fastest 250 rider on the track this weekend and somthing can happen during the motos for one of the two Ryans.. just saying, dont be surprised if they dont pull it off.... i m just a realistic man..
As a Euroboy i must admit that RD and RV probably are the fastest 450 guys right now. Although Paulin and Pourcel aren't slow either. But as long as all these guys don't race eachother whole year there is no comparison. I was in at the MXoN last year in Lakewood and saw RD smoke everyone. But its a one day deal and luck and good starts are really important. I mean , Short didn't impress me at all and Canard was really disappointing. But still, the US won it. In the 250 class Bagget was incredible a couple of races but lately he is not on top of his game. I think it will be between France and the USA with some individual succes for maybe Cairoli , Roczen , Herlings, Searle and Wilson. I guess we'll just have to wait and see........
I'm taking off to France in a few hours and can't wait to see the show ! I hope the track will be better than for the GP some months ago and will allow riders to fight badly. USA is favorite, France is the outsider but England and Australia can do it also. The 250 battle gonna be huge, Roczen, Wilson, Baggett, Musquin...a pre view of the 2012 US National !
I don't think that RV and RD will be a lot faster than Euros on this kind of track, last year in Denver RD was not the faster on 1 lap but definitely the stronger on the moto, even Short was stronger than all the Euros this day...I hope no crash or mechanic failure for anybodies and let the sport talking !
By the way France could have a secret weapon, American flag underwears that will use the US team are a French brand...maybe they are design to crush or itch their balls badly during the moto...lol
He'll more than likely be a "no show" and dump or run from his agreement...like he did over here in the states. RD and RV will make frog soup out of this back stabbing and cowardly once pro turned wee-knee! (Like JS7)
POOR-Cel. LOL! Again folks. Let's not forget his turn-chicken-and-run act from that Yamaha Team over here in the states. (The team name escapes me)Turned his back on a CONTRACT?!?!? I guess YOUR WORD in France means something totally different in the states. Or,vice-versa. Pretty bad poo-poo folks.
