Half the track is way too narrow in parts. Long straights with jump after jump after jump after jump. Only a couple little hills. And this is supposed to be for an outdoor national? Looks like a local arenacross track.

Imagine that, a flat piece of ground with an SX style track on it hosting an outdoor national. Shame that the premier class title can't be decided on a real MX track. A snapshot of the future of the Nationals. All it is missing is more bleacher seating.

I thought it was a good video...have any of you haters ever ridden that track? Most of you could probably not even make it a lap. Dude was hauling ass!
they havent changed a thing on the track... it has been like this for the past few months. this is definitely not a pro national track. last year's track had some cool parts to it. but this is just way too simple and boring. i really hope they make this track better within the next few weeks. a mid pack C rider can do all of these jumps. so PLEASE make it more fun for us to watch the pros rip it up!!
oh, and i hope to see BRUCE RUTHERFORD #795 out there at pala!!!

Just about threw up myself...but common guys, any mx video is a video worth watching, especially a video without music. The sound of a 4 stroke is all the music I need. Track definitely looks different compared to last years. Looking forward to Pala this year. Uni, Pala and Millville are my top 3 picks.

I thought it was great to see a different perspective instead of the same ol' front fender view. You all need to shut up and be thankful Racer X even offers videos. Yeah, it was different, and the view was kind of awkward at times, but so what. It was a refreshing change to see the track/bike/rider from a new angle!

I have to admit I am a nascar enthusiast. I attended the southwick race and it was bar none the most boring motorsport I have ever witnessed. So friggin slow! My buddy told me you have to be in shape to race dirt cycles. How? You rely on a motor for Pete's sake! I will not be back! Can I get my $ back? Later dirtbikers
That's why in years I never post anything online with bench racers that have nothing nice to say. Nice to see a few riders standing up for all the nasty complaints. May not have tress but the track come national day last years was nasty rough and very tough!It made for good racing and was national caliber come race time. I cant wait!!

the NutCam is......Different ...it bothers me thinking i'm about to take a crossbar pad to the goggles. Never been there , would know more seeing it in person...used to really like Glen Helen though. After seeing the wonder land of Washougal most tracks kinda pale. Whatever happened to a natural terrain type moto track WITHOUT SX jumps.

Miss the Glen Helen National for sure.......Never been to Pala, but it looks horrible for spectatiting....I'll watch the race for sure....but the stomach cam was hard to watch.....

It's amazing how many smart people with all the answers have the time to sit and comment back and forth on this simple little video and the track that saved southern California from being taken off the outdoor circuit. And pala has done an amazing job with the improvements they've made, I can't wait to see the track in the next few years. I don't understand the comments about flat and narrow, ever watch Troy ohio? Do understand about how a average c rider can do everything there, but theres a big difference between just getting over the jumps and getting over everything fast, especially when the track is rough, which pala gets NASTY rough. I like that they use this track for the national, because unlike Glen Helen, they are actually improving everything little by little. Glen Helen became ghetto motocross. Ever tried to shit the bathrooms there around moto 2? Gross.

i ride this track all the time, those hills are bigger then you think and so is that step up. and yea the camera view wasnt that good. Hope i can actually get a parking spot this year instead of waiting in bumper to bumper traffic for no reason. GO DUNGEY!!!

Nothing against LD, but that was not even watchable, my Chevy backup cam is more interesting. What I wanna know is, who the hell at RXI downloads/previews this video and says"dude, I gotta put this up on the homepage" I'd much rather hear that this was an accident or the hurricanes fault.........something

That's no national track. Whatever issues Glen Helen may have had at least it had a real pro track. There's nothing better in SoCal? Really???

I miss the Glen Helen national too with all the hills etc. I went to the Pala national last year and this year I am watching it on TV. I had fun at Pala last year, but I dont want to risk waiting in line for 2 hours again.
Funny how fast everyone forgets what a rip off GH was. They would barely give you a 10x30 camping spot for $175. The good spots got auctioned off for God knows how much.
DAC I guarantee you waited 2 hours to get out of GH! They say there is free parking at Pala this year so that should make it a lot easier to get in.
You can't judge a track by this video. Get real mid pack C Riders clearing 120' doubles and the 110' hip jump. You guys are hilarious.
That clip did suck but the Pala track is really good and easy access to all areas of the track unlike Glen Helen.The hills are plenty big enough and the track is a long one.
only Renthal can be pumped for this video.

Last years Pala National was a political fiasco by MXSports because Glen Helen didn't want to take MXSports' insulting offer to host the 2010 MX Nationals. GH stood up to MXSports by not taking their "take it or leave it" 1 year offer.
MxSports knew they were going to Pala in 2011 anyway so they were only trying to get one more year out of Glen Helen while building up Pala. However, MX Sports didn't anticipate GH would call their bluff and were forced to add Pala to the 2010 schedule at the end of the season, even though Pala never had a national caliber track . . . they only had a vet track and a bunch of rocky hills! They had nice drawings of grand facilities in the future, but they had to scramble to put everything together at the last minute because GH wouldn't play ball.
All the contentious issues of permanent facilities, better access, and traffic control that MxSports held against GH to improve before the 2010 national deal, were the very same issues that made the 2010 Pala National a nightmare . . . 3 hours to get in the place because they didn't plan for enough gate access. I wasn't the only one to miss the 1st 450 moto because of the traffic . . .
The guys at Pala did a great job with the time frame and the terrain they have to work with, but the access planning has to be much better this year. Free parking will not do it alone.
I would expect the 2011 track will be better than last year's rush job, and this year they need to have a track worthy of a national race. No more excuses. They need to make an epic event for this year's epic championship.

Capping one of the greatest National seasons in recent memory on a flat ground outdoor SX style track is brutal.

Roger, - well said. Both Freestone and Pala replaced real MX tracks (Broome Tioga & Glen Helen) that had soul and along with hills and great viewing for spectators. Question is what track is next to be replaced by one of these posers? MXSports has done so much right for this series, we can only hope that the next one doesn't follow the current model.
Remember Troy Ohio? That track was a total POS. It was good to see it leave the schedule and now they are adding crap tracks. Actually Freestone isn't as bad as it looks on TV. There needs to be a race in Texas and Tony Miller is the only one capable of hosting it so what's the alternative? SoCal has to have a better option. The southeast needs a national. Pennsylvania has 2 nationals almost next to each other. Thunder Valley may have elevation but its actually a terrible track, horrible soil for a national, bad prep every year. This series needs some work.

I do know this for sure I`d much rather go to Pala than Glen Helen the San Bernardino area SUCKS.It`s about as ghetto as you can get thank god I can go stay at my brothers house in Temecula a very nice city and have just a short drive to the track.
Logan Darien is one of the DEFT FAMILY owners or artist n such. I liked the view, simply because you could see how much the bike was being worked. Helmet cams can to an extent almost smooth out a track because the head stays relatively stable.
