BRAPPPPPPPP 2 STROKE HOLESHOTTT
Hodaka nailed down a 2nd,,,,,,,sucks for trey, just glad to hear the rod isnt bent into a pretzel. sucks when ya have to worry about bending something in yer bod, in lou of breaking something. I have some idea.
I know a guy who bent the rod in his femur and I think they had to go in and cut the femur in half and pull it out from the middle then go back and put a new one in. Hate it for Trey, I imagine at this point he is more upset with the situation than he is in pain.
What happened to Lance Vincent that second moto? he was rolling out and then it looked like he got hurt, what was the damage?
moto11, ur a DISGRACE
I'm absolutely sick about Trey. He lost his dad just when his pro career was launching, came back from some serious injuries above anyones expectations. Clearly one of the 5 fastest guys in the world that makes a good race into a great race. Praying for ya Trey, hang in there and handle it the way you have in the past and you'll be fine young man.
Cunningham has really emerged this year, glad to see this kid doing well and being consistent. Never been a Reed fan but the guy has the gonads of a T-Rex and a passion for the sport I have rarely seen, amazing year for the Aussie, he's gained a ton of respect from this old man.
really bummed about TC. This getting old. Awesome performances broken up by injuries. I hope he doesn't become "that guy".
I'm giving Reed a pass on this Saturday's 7-4 for last weeks' sub-orbital flight.
This should be the last time I say this. If not for the mechanical DNF @ Texas, Dungey would be head & shoulders above the rest. There's not one thing that leads me to believe Dungey can't take this title..............unless Reed wants it more.
I was pulling for RV, but even though Washougal is his " hometrack", he has had trouble there in the past and Dungey seems to excel there for whatever reason. RV comes out with the points lead (+1) which in Reed terms, that is all that matters... I think RV and Dungey will take turns and I think RV can pull it out down the stretch.... I dont know what Dungey is thinking, but that Zook and he are a perfect match in my opinion....He has had a "different" season than last year, but a great season none the less running top 3 every week for the most part....."If it aint broke dont fix it "....He doesnt need Roger D as much as people think..it all comes down to the bike and the rider in the end...He has proven he can win.....and at Washougal he looked fantastic...That RMZ pulled that Kawasaki on those hills pretty good....I'd like to see him stay on Zook...but seeing Dungey on a Honda wont be too bad either.....especially if JS7 is taking over the Suzuki
@Trend Killer, your right, it seems RV and Dungey will swap back and forth the rest of the year, but you can never count out Reed getting in there. He just seems to find a way, and he was ahead of RV in Millville when he launched. he has the speed too. I dont see why Dungey wouldf want to leave Suzuki, its obvious that Mike Webb runs a good team, and Dungey seems to be right in synch with the Suzuki. I cant see a guy who wins a title then leaves a team. But you never know. And I couldnt see Suzuki dumping Dungey for Stewie, NO WAY!! they would have to love Dungeys image and dedication to run all year, outdoors and indoors.
@ MTY.... LV245 sprained his ankle when his foot got caught in a rut.
The 250 Overall says:
19. Nick Paluzzi (27-12)
20. Ryan Sipes (27-12)
Has any AMA rider gone to KTM and won a title? I certainly remember the King's infamous bust, and now we see Short isn't as competitive.
@Carlsbad. Thats not quit true that if Dungey had the 25 points that he lost a Freestone he would not be head and shoulders above Reed.If Reed had not of crashed at Millville and won that moto instead of getting 14th.Then this past weekend he would of been injured and would of finnished much better say a 3 1.Those two would still be very close in points.Do the math .It not quite what you think it would be.
@gbs417. Langston had a 125 outdoor title in his grasp. He had it sewed up in the last moto of the last race and his spoke nipples broke and destoryed his wheel and he lost to Mike Brown.
@Fred.
Damn, what a tough way to lose it!
@BD200 - Winning a title and changing teams the next year is a strange move in my opinion as well, unless your coming out of the lites to the 450s..... But Reed did it two years in a row and Carmichael did too, but he could win on anybrand ...Reed Won the 08' SX title on the Yamaha and then jumped to Suzuki for 09'. He got smoked in SX, then won the 09' MX on the Zook and jumped to Kawasaki, He got smoked again and then jumped to his own team and Honda....Both Kawasaki and Suzuki teams, Reed had to deal with the younger guy being the teams focal points and I dont think he can deal with that....Same reason if Dungey were to end up at Two Two , Reed would not be racing.along side of him...I think Reed is done after Monster Cup.......
gbs417. I forgot that Mike Alissi almost won a title on a KTM in 125 outdoor. This was the next year after all that Believe the hype stuff.Ironically Grant Lanston is the one who caused him to loose that title. Also ironically it was in the first moto of the first race that that happened.Alissi was one turn and a jump away from his first AMA moto win.Grant Lanston came in that last turn and cleaned Alissi out.Mike went from first to 15th because one one stupid move by Lanston. It broke Lanstons ankle. That move ruined Lanston and Alissi's season. This move to me was one of the most stupidest moves that I've ever seen in 40 years of motocross.I think it was the last race of the series and Ivan Tedesco had a small point lead. This is when the drama played out.Alissi knocked Tedesco down. When they went to pick their bikes up Alissi stood on Tedesco's bike and was trying to hit the kill switch on his bike while Tedesco was trying to shove mike out of the way.The whole world hated Alissi then.It was funny but also one of the most stupid things that I had ever seen.Tedesco won the series over Mike by a few points. The Points spread was smaller than the points that Mike should of got for winning the first moto that first race where Langston knocked him down.I feel Langston screwed Mike Alissi out of a 125 National championship in his rookie year.
I may be wrong. But I'm pretty sure Yamaha and Larry Brooks screwed Reed over fo James Stewart.Reed didn't have a choice.I also thought that in 09 Reed just lost the SX championship to Stewart by a hand full of points. He didn't get blown away as you put it.Paybacks hell ,look what happened to Brooks.
Fred - I am not sure what went down 100% between Reed and Brooks...Both Reed and Brooks appear to be very stubborn guys. I am sure it was a bumpy road throughout their partnership...I beleive Reed made the first move to jump ship and then Brooks went after James since he and Kawi were ending their deal..... In 09', James DNF'd the first race and was 25 points back......he then stomped Reed and co. pretty much the rest of the SX..making up those points and then getting a points lead by then last few rounds...Reed tried to run poor Stew off the track in Vegas even when Stew let him pass....no class sissy move by Reed...always thought that was a BS move.....you lost Reed, suck it up pricccck...he didnt try an run RV off the track this year, and he was even closer in points.....
Trend killer,I imagine those two clashed. You know I forgot about that Vegas deal
This is not the same KTM that McGrath ended his pro career on. I believe that the Red Bull / KTM partnership will be a long term one and they will become as established as the Monster / Kawasaki partnership, in fact, they must to compete against their main rivals in the "energy drink wars".
The KTM / Red Bull program will bear fruit in that they have an established (dominant) G.P. program that will be the feeder system for euro talent that is U.S. bound ( Langston, Musquin, Roczen, Herlings), they are the only brand (among the "big five") to offer 50/65/80cc racing machines which, is important for starting them on one brand (building brand loyalty), upon establishing a 250F program will implement a farm system much like Team Green, Factory Connection, JGRMX & Suzuki Amatuer support programs AND last but not at all least, they have Roger DeCoster.
I'm not going to call anyone names for not thinking they will succeed but, I'd sure enjoy having the money to cover any & all that would bet against them.
I want start my own team....exceprt instead of energy drinks as the main sponsor....Lets get a Toilet Paper sponship....you could have the " Charmin Honda Team " HAHAHAHA!!!
@ Fred. I disagree Fred, instead of a DNF, give Dungey Reeds worst moto score and you have him ahead in points either way.
I'm torn between who I'd like to see with the title.
I like Reed because of the "doing it on his own" thing, that just thrills me. Also, while Hondas "chosen ones" are using up their injury clauses on their contracts, the guy they had no faith in is impressing the heck out of people who have historically never liked him, that is significant in my book. On the other hand, I'd like to see an American win the U.S. series. I'd also like to see Dungey move to KTM with a #1 plate.
So Lance sprained his ankle while running up front.... Now that he is not riding the Gieco bike, what is the name of the team he is riding for now? anybody see the cruel irony here?
@Trend Killer, some of those scenarios you wrote are correct, but the riders didnt move teams by choice, it was the manufacturers choice. RC left Hinda after winning the Nationals because Honda wouldnt renew his contract. Not his choice, and same with Reed, Suzuki went with Dungey instead of Reed, they liked the younger guy. Neither of those two left on thier terms. Dungey would be leaving on his choice, which seems odd to me. Unless the rumors are true and Suzuki never can afford to pay Dungeys bonuses, but I dont think that is true, they have insurance for that.
@Trend Killer, dont forget when Reed gave Stewie the little bump in Vegas, (It was just a little one, he wasnt trying to knock him over or he would have) those two had several run-ins during the year. Including Stewie coming over in front of Reed over some doubles at Jacksonville. A very dangerous and no class move on Stewies part. It went both ways all year between those two. Reeds move was just a tap, letting him know he was there.
