HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Muscle Milk/Toyota/Yamaha rider Davi Millsaps will miss round seven of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship due to a knee injury sustained during the second moto at Red Bud Track and Trail in Buchanan, Mich. On July 2.
Millsaps led the first moto at Red Bud until just before the halfway mark, ultimately landing on the podium in third position. During the second moto Millsaps was inside the top-10 during the early laps when a mistake caused him to run off the track injuring his left knee. He was able to salvage a 13th place finish for sixth overall.
Millsaps’ condition will be evaluated on an ongoing basis, but he is expected to be ready to race round eight at Washougal MX Park in Washougal, Wash. on July 23.
Millsaps’ teammate Justin Brayton will race tomorrow at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn. The first moto will be broadcast live on allisports.com and Fuel TV at 2:00 p.m. (EST). The second moto will air on SPEED at 11 p.m. (EST).

That sucks, he was finally looking healthy and pretty fast. He was proving that there isnt anything wrong with the Yamaha thats for sure.
He has looked pretty good. But bd200 there are WAY more people that say the YZ is not good than there are saying it is good. Even if he likes it that does not mean it is for everyone. Look at MC... He rode an 96 l think for 3 years because he did not like the newer one.
@ BillC,, you are right, there are way more poeple that don't like that Yam than do. One of my friends is trying to sell his Yam 4 - fiddy, and has alreay purchased and rode his new Kaw 4 - fiddy,, and he likes it much better. All you have to do is go to a race and ask guys if they have rode a Yam 450, and if they have, most of them will tell you they suck. Thats what I did anyway.
and the 2011 Kaw 450's havent had tranny problems?
good luck with that.
@ Dave,, he has a 2012 Kaw 450
I dont know much about the new Yamaha engine conffiguration but technally it makes sence.for a lot of reasons. I raced Yamaha most of my career. The only reason Motorcycles iin the very early days were made with the intake on the rear was because of dirt, we have that problem solved. I do know that a V Twin with a 45 degree angle on the rods makes for good handling. I would have to ride one to find out. My note to Yamaha is there a balancer to contol when the power stroke hit and the suspension compresses and rebounds at the same time. Just my thought on what I have read I used to work in prototype deveopment for the defense industry. My job was to fix problems????
while were talking bike issues....2011 crf450...8 hours on it...fvcking crank went. had my engine guy (20+yr dealer mechanic) take it apart and he said crank bearings pressed on too hard from the factory. any honda reps please feel free to hit me up cuz thats BULLLLL$HIT
@ Welker,, I dont think the Yam 450 engine is the problem.. I think its more to do with the geometry of the bike,, because of the motor.
@ m c --- If you have any kind of a decent relationship with your dealer they should be able to get their regional Honda svc rep to stand behind their product.
D@mn... tough break for DM18.
He was showing good form and having a strong outdoor season.
'Saps, hope you have a successful recovery and are back @ 100% for A1.
LOL I do think there was an underlieing reason for BD200 saying that anyway.
davi got hurt trying to go fast on that thing.what does that tell you?
3 podium spots Millsaps stole from the "Fab 3" this season. I gotta give repect right there. Metty got one podium, but Millsaps proved his speed to me so far. Get well soon Davi, see ya next week!
@BILLC, I guess you can read my mind. You dont know sh#t , so dont act like you do. I said it because he has had a good season on a bike a bunch of Tards have said is junk, when they really have no clue. They have probably never sat on one. They are making excuses for two riders who are making excuses. The bike had alot of success in supercross right??
I'd bet Stewarts not on one next year!
Mt comment didnt have a darn thing to do with Stewie, it was directed towards Pourcelss excuses, now he is saying the Kawi isnt right either. Now what?? But the Yamaha won 5 races in supercross, nearly every heat race, and Millsaps was doing pretty darn good on it. Its just fantards making excuses.
theres nothing wrong with the yz 450. the kx is a tank it does not handle for shit. all the bikes are pretty even. i rode all the 2011 bikes until you do that dont say shit
Calm down bd, Just having a little fun.... But it is funny u thought it was about JS.
I'll bet all the people defending the yz450 own one.
1) Are knee braces not quite the bee,s knee,s or are some stupid riders not wearing them, just like they dont wear neck braces
2) The Yamaha,s in the GP.s seem to be able to win, although as works bike we are not really sure what chassis they may have.
3) your all gay.
4) All you guys dont forget to watch the Latvian GP and see Pourcels Kawi, just sitting in the pit,s all day long.
NONE of you guys can make me believe that a top pro bike is junk! WITH SADDLE TIME, comes feelings, the kind that make you feel like you can't do any thing wrong. I race Hare scrambles and would practice ( trail ride ) twice a week for a minimum of 3-4 hours. I got to the point where I can tell the difference between different tires with different pressures. AND I'm SLOW!!!!
These guys are just NOT putting in the time it takes to be a TOP GUY!
BOTTOM LINE!
Your right on all counts.....
No BILLC, YOU thought it was about Stewie, you defend your boy till the end. By the way, check out the new DIRT BIKE mag that just came out, August issue. they have some choice comments on your boy Stewie. Let me share one joke for you---"We hear Stewart is starting his own tow truck service, so he can personnaly come and haul away all the wrechage he caused" LOL!!. its a riot, And there are some comments from some pretty big names in there on Stewie, guys like Danny Laporte, its pretty telling on how people in the industry see him..
@2003racer8--There isnt nothing wrong with any of the pros bikes. They change almost everything on those bikes to match every riders needs. They change the front rake and all the suspension stuff is one-off and made for each individual rider. they make the bike to exactly what the rider wants, period. Pourcel is making excuses. And Stewie has a supercross only contract, period. He has had it for years. Dont know why he feels the need to give any other reason why he isnt racing.
