Can someone explain how Reed loses points to RV2 when they both split the motos with 3rd and 1st place finishes respectively? He lost 6 pts...I don't understand this point system. What does it matter if you win the overall? There are no extra points...

I find it interesting how MA is only 7 points behind Short having done half the number of races.

ride111mph wrote: 8:59am June 20, 2011

Andrew Short had a least one DNF and some bad finishes. Points are points. I don't know about the points CR lost to RV. the both should have left with 45 more points for the weekend and RD 44 points.

Reed was 138 points and Villo 123 points coming into BC. Both were awarded 45 points hence 183 and 168 points respectively. Reed lost 6 points to Villo at the previous round High Point by going 5, 1 compared to Villo 1, 3. GO DIZZY PORTER!!!

That podium photo is funny.....it looks like RV is going to take a dump right there!!!..... I have not heard the podcast....but it sounds like RV was about to crap himself during the 2nd moto?.....man that sucks.....watching the race he looked to be sitting funny on his bike.....Now people are saying he is making excuses....how is that any different than Reed's rock issue last week.....I dont think we want RV to send out a Twitter picture of his soiled pants,,,, HAHAHA!!... RV will get that 1-1 here soon and eat away at those points....that first moto Reed looked pretty bummed out and without that engine stall by RV, he would have been gone...again.... Somone check the chicken...thats 2 Kawasaki guys who had stomach problems at Budds Creek.....

Trend Killer
Maybe their different b/c CR was bleeding, and RV's stomach issue isn't "visible". I don’t know it that makes it anymore valid of a reason for being off the pace though.

RV benefitted huge from the point system, b/c he was irrelevant to the top two in moto2. CR and RD were on it and lapped all the way up to Brown; twelfth I believe. That was more than likely the reason for the lappers not giving an inch for RD. But, isn’t the common thought that lappers help the chaser gain, not the runner lead? CR sure made it around ‘em.
Did Hahn break his ribs? He was putting in a great moto before that.
Grant showed he isn’t far off the pace in his first race.
MA has the starts...but does he lack the endurance to keep up a pace; maybe training too hard during the week? Or does he just not have the speed to keep the lead?

bd200 wrote: 3:46pm June 20, 2011

Reed DID NOT lose points to RV. He had a 15 point lead entering Budds Creek, and left with a 15 point lead..

mx_phreek is very astute. I find it very interesting as well. So interesting in fact, it pisses me entirely off. Either blowing up or off the pace, the 450 class is no place for a 350 at this time. The magic spell is fading in M.X.G.P. as well, with Carioli fighting for what was given to him last year. Ugh, I'm over it........until Lakewood, then I'll be griping about it all over again.
