The coverage we are getting is absolutly awsome BUT, if i didn't follow the sport online i wouldn't understand it. This deal with cbs, speed, and fuel playing the races at diffrent times and days is crazy. If you don't have dvr you will likely only watch one of the races. I know we are lucky with the coverage, i just hope we can get the tv scedule better. The more people watching = more money for the sport.
I am glad to see the coverage as well. To me it doesn't really matter when it is on because it gets DVR'd anyways. Most motocrossers of the world are out riding on the weekend anyways. What the coverage hurts, imo, is internet traffic. I won't visit any moto websites until Sunday night or Monday morning after I have watched the races. The coverage probably does confuse casual watchers, but as long as it gets exposure for the sport, I guess that is what is most important in the long run.
I too appreciate the coverage, but the logistics of watching it are daunting. I don't pay the extra bucks to get fuel, so at best I'll get to see the second motos... Spreading out 4 motos over two days is ludicris!
When you do watch it they show a battle between 10th and 11th place like anyone gives a hoot about that. Some of these guys are so slow they don't deserve any coverage. I guess they assume we can see the leader when he laps them. TV has no idea what people like or even care it seems.
This is for pat pipes.......Have you every rode in a national mx race before? You think the guys in 10th and 11th are so slow,I dont think you have any idea of the talant and speed out there. You sound like one of those fast guys on the couch eating cheetos and drinking a large shake,But when and if you do ride you go ride 2 laps and pull off and complain about something wrong with the bike or something when all the time you are so slow kids on mini bikes are blowing by,and your on a 450.I dont recall seeing or hearing about pat pipes even in the top 40 of a mx national......Put that in your pipe and smoke it.......The TV coverage is great..
its like watching the 1st half of a football game then watching the 2nd half the next day.i know we are smaller but its too spread out. why not have fuel do all one weekend speed does the next then nbc. and as far as 10th thru 11TH,DO YOU REALIZE HOW FAST YOU HAVE TO BE? get real. if there is no battle up front show us the battles.i get bored when they follow 1 rider for 3 laps riding by himself, when you know there are battles. and please put a camera where it shows the speed and we can hear the bikes, even diehards go to sleep when you cant hear them.move up those cameras! thx dc keep working on it.
One thing it does is keep everyone wanting more. I don't go online because i have often times found that the races are spoiled for me, especially when looking at Facebook twitter updates it has given away some pretty good races in the past, so i am careful of where I surf until after i see the races on the weekend. If they fixed up the schedule a bit it would be perfect, i'm thankful for all of the coverage the sport is getting. Keep it going!
Well we have at least half decent tv coverage now.. All the sport is missing is two strokes. Let people race those and maybe the sport will be fun to watch again..
Your smoking crack if you think the coverage is good. Commercials in the middle of a battle for the lead in 250 class. Then have to wait for NBC to see the 2nd Moto of the 450's. NBC will break away to show a get to know the rider or some tear jerk heart felt overcoming adversity BS. The coverage blows.
I agree with X Factor. We deserve to be able to watch the races the same day they happen. (at the very least.) Jeff needs to give his little co-host a beat-down, and the timing of the commercials is less thatn desirable. I'd rather see the complete races the day after, than see half one day, then half the other. I agree, the coverage blows. (and not in a good way)
Was out riding today, and missed the live feed. So I check the Alli website top watch the feed when I get home. No can do. Not archived. So I check the TV schedule to see when to watch. To see what I missed today, I need to watch 5 segments over 3 different days, from 4 channels / sources.
I like moto, want to watch, but its too difficult. I have other responsibilties and things to do. Like ride.
Imagine watching your favorite football team play a singe game over three days on four channels.
Pat pipes I want to feed on you and your kin. Weimer and Metcalfe were in 10th and 11th
lets see ,it's free .. i don't have to travel to places i probably couldn't go to or afford to .Probably would'nt get to EVERY race anyway.... i have to turn on the tv or computer and push a button whaaaaa I don't have the time (if you have a job get dish network direct tv dvr recorder its 2011) jesus the sport is turning into a bunch of lazy babys who have some mistaken idea they DESERVE exactly what they want when they want it. be glad you get to watch it at all.....and go to a real one and support it.@patpipe seems like you should line up and show the SLOW guys how to do it,please give it shot,we can't wait to see you on tv.
Yea, remember the days when you didn't know the results of who won until a month later when you would read it in Motocross Action!!! Now that sucked! man I'm gettin' old!
I think today's coverage is awesome NO complaint from me.
Go Reedy! twotwo
I think the coverage is good enough (although there was that commercial break recently right while the battle for the lead was happening) but it is awkward to try to catch the first motos. My main concern is the spoilers online, as I went to allisports.com to see if I could watch the 1st motos from the archive and right on the mx page is the spoiler for the 450 race (not to mention that there are no archives of the first motos)...I was annoyed...took a lot of the fun out of watching.
