Young American Michael Leib has been racing in Europe in the World GP series. We met up with Leib at Glen Helen while he was getting ready to make his return to racing in Portugal. Although he has been off the bike for awhile now due to a head injury, Michael is ready to get his Husqvarna back on the track.

Wow, looks damn fast for second day back on the bike.... Good luck!
What is the story with Leib? He did amateurs in the states I think and then went overseas when we got a killer offer from Huskey?
Larry, he did the GPs last year too - I think he was on a Honda.
Last year I was with Bud Racing-Kawisaki in France.
has to seat bounce everything. looks like he needs more power. probably that fancy bike is not made for US racing???
Seat bounce everything? i am sure that bike has plenty of power......look good out there man, I follow the GP's, good luck Leib! Where are you originally from?
Looking fast! I've always loved the styling on the more recent Husky's.
I'm glad you took the time to let your brain heal, especially being so young...you don't need to look much further than Travis Pastrana to see the negative effects that repeated concussions can have on your carrer...he had that one outdoor season where he had multiple concussions and was never the same (on the track) since. I honestly feel all the concussions I have suffered while racing / practicing have affected me greatly. My reaction time has slowed, I have increasing depression the older I get, I have one eye that began to blink slowly after a big Loretta's crash, and find I have a very difficult time choosing words when I am speaking to somone (which was not a problem prior to a few big crashes) and feel like I come off as a stammering idiot sometimes...which may be completely accurate ;)
anyhow, Good Luck!
That helmet is sick
Give em hell in Portugal Michael! I’ll be watching on MX-Life early Sunday morning.
dude rips. hes only 19 i bet he comes back to the states in a couple years, gets on a good team and makes a name for himself. goodluck to you man!
reminds me of sorta what zach osbourne did. pretty sick.
and the seatbounce comment was stupid.....what were you watching?
Michael has always been fast and has always trained his ass off
he blows.
Good luck for Portugal. I will be there watch the race :)
Vai Michael Leib! ti voglio vedere in top 10 in Portogallo! Buona fortuna!
Go get 'em Leib!
Tell your dad to lay off the chicks...........
Awesome interview. Much smarter than Donald. Must get it from his mom. Michael, try Rosetta Stone to learn Italian. It is great. Good Luck.
Have Michael doing training in the Mantova GP track in february - he was already fast by then.
Sorry to hear he had that vicious crash - cya in mantova next spring michael :-D
Saw this kid riding at Englishtown a few years ago and was wondering what happened to him. Good to see he has his head on straight.
Good luck Michael! just ride like yu know how to ride and you will be great!
I will be cheering you on from Mexico
i love the huskys - i hope they get a usa team like ktm - maybe mike will be on it - i hope so
Great kid. I remember him on 60s KILLING it against 80s in Englishtown. I was working at Raceway Park at the time and got to talk with his dad quite a bit and since then have kept an eye out for him. This kid is super talented and we should definitely expect to see him back in the US in another couple years. Racing the GPs is a great idea I think--get the fitness up in those longer motos so when you come back here all you need to do is get used to supercross tracks. I'm looking forward to that day! Good luck with the rest of the season and fingers crossed for you for next year!!
