Round 3 of the MXGP from Glen Helen proved to be a breakout party for Belgium's Clement Desalle. The Rockstar Energy Suzuki pilot is quietly making a run to the top of the MX1 charts and his 1-1 performance at Glen Helen proved he's ready to make the leap to head of the class. Meanwhile, down in the MX2 class it was an all-orange show as the Red Bull Teka KTM duo of Jeffrey Herlings and Ken Roczen were unmatched all day. So let's get over to the lap charts, brought to you by Motion Pro, to see how it all broke down.

Red Bull Teka KTM's Ken Roczen was a one-man wrecking crew at Glen Helen. Having just wrapped up his first career SX Lites win, Roczen was back at it outdoors and the results remained the same. Roczen set the fastest lap in both motos en route to a dominating 1-1 performance.

The future?

Check out TEAM HONDA AT DAWN
in our Latest issue of Racer X available now.Forty years ago, Team Honda arrived on the American motocross circuit with a brand new motorcycle: the game-changing Elsinore CR250. Page 170.

Good thing Roczen and Herlings didnt ride the 450 class on their 250's.. They would hav smoked those guys... Unbelievable...
Did they smooth the track for the second moto's? Is that why the laptimes were faster? I wasn't there but I'd be interested to know....
They started doing that crap last year at the AMA nationals. STOP IT. STOP SMOOTHING OUT THE DAMNED TRACK...this is MOTOCROSS.
Back in the day there would be NO WAY you could run a faster lap in moto two...unless you pulled an Alessi.
there ha been many times where a lites rider can run the same laptimes or better as the bigger class. that does not mean that the same lites rider getting on a bigger bike will automatically win fool...how long have you been following MX guy?
Roczen and Herlings have a nice for you to sit since you are apparently all over their pole...
it was because it wasnt muddy
@ mxmofo please shut up,,, You are a moron.. I never said " the same lites rider getting on a bigger bike will automatically win ." Apparently, they dont need to get on a 450, the 250 is just fine, you ididot .... Your just another tough guy that cant even use a real name...
They had rain overnight so the morning motos were a little muddy an deep. GP's don't groom and smooth out the tracks..
@ mxmofo please shut up,, I guess I struck a tender spot with you,, didnt I ??? hahahah.. Just take a nap, and it will be ok after mommy puts some ice on it ...
Thanks for clearing that up...
Definately explains the faster lap times in the second motos. I guess with MX2's second moto going off before the MX1 second moto there is the reason why their lap times (Roczen and Herlings) were faster as the track was pretty prime then but not as rough as the MX1 second moto?...or they were just faster!
is mxmofo a real name? Please tell your mom "well done" it really explains a lot.
Its the name that all my own,, and thats what matters.. How bout yours ??? I think you need to learn how to read ....
Couple of dudes in here need to find a room...
'mxmofopleaseplease please shut up' must have fell out of his bunk - bed this morning.
Both of you. Shut up.
wonder what some of the lap times were a few years ago when the ama nationals were last run there, when I believe Villo last won there on a 450. It may not be a direct comparison because the track is a little different I believe. But still, I think there several GP riders that could hang with some of our best. DeSalle proved that last yr. at Unadilla.
@mxmofo: when you win an argument on the internet, it's like winning at the special olympics....you're still a retard.
Ooohh, thank you Johnny.. Now I can sleep at night now that I have your expert insight into this matter. I would prbably sa the same thing about calling poeple names on the internet,, wouldnt you Johnny ?? You must be ysleping in the OTHER bunk - bed.
@jairtime suks, the tracks are not the same...........Glen Helen often changes the layouts / dirt / sand / etc. for the big races
Why do people hate each other so much?
Are we all interestet on our sport?
Isnt that what counts???
Please,.....
mxmofo, I believe Johnny is, with Yo Momma
I agree.. All I did was say how fast the MX2 guys were going compared to the MX1 guys. Next think I know, I'm gettin' pumulled..
Yeah the first motos were very muddy. For the second Motos (i witnessed) they did groom alot of the corners and jumps. The track was (in my opinion) alot smoother in the second motos.
Fan of the week, OMG!!! Who is she??
wow i used to really enjoy reading these comments on these write ups on here, alot of good info and opinions from people that have been around mx awhile,
Now look at the kind of people that post on here. 90% of them are complete imature dushbags that just want to start fights with on another. what a joke you guys are.
@ PBH153,, Hey man, I'm just defending myself,, that's all..
PBH153 I agree, this is a place to reflect on our sport and share our thoughts and opinions about the articles in a positive and constructive manner. I think racer x needs to add a douchebag filter to the comments section.
Roczen and Herlings were VERY impressive. Glen Helen has gnarly, power-sapping hills and pinned straights. A big bike should always have a good advantage over a small bike there. Roczen and Herlings are the next big things in our great sport, Roczen especially. He will be dominating EVERY rider in the world by next year outdoors and indoors the year after, with no slight at all intended to James, RV, Chad, Dungey, and Trey Canard. Mark my words!!
This site used to be great for talking about moto. Now its just full of childish idiots who want to argue about anything and sit and name-call like children. And it is always the same 2 or 3 guys involved. Its sad.
@bd200,,, but you have never been guilty of that, right ?? hahahahah...
You should show the Vet class lap times too. Although their 1st race was on Saturday, so a bit smooth and dry, both Dubach and King were jumping the 'triple-triple' and were very fast lap times. King 2.57, Dubach 2.59.
Sunday in the mud were way slower King 3.22, Dubach 3.31, Nilson 3.25.
Pretty fast for old fellas all the same.
Smoothing out the track is a slap in the face to all motocrossers worldwide- The second moto is SUPPOSED to be tougher than the first !
I'm sure if anyone caught this but Roczen's time in the second moto is faster than ANY of the MX1 best lap times !!! Wow is this kid the real deal.
Boring racing... Nice to see it could get some tv time. :(
I cant believe how much faster Roczen and Herlings are compared to the rest. I thaught Searle would give them a good run on the cls kawi. I really want to see herlings ride southwick. kids so fast in the sand
