Looks to me like the game is 40 bucks, but to really do anything you have to spend real money on DLC to get tracks, gear, bikes, so by the time your done there going to squeeze like 80 bucks out of you. waste of money reflex is fun and cheap and the riders dont look like goons, and there no stupid preload. just my .02
I had a hard time with Reflex, but I didn't get to play it much. I hope I can get the hang of the controls with this game, cuz I'm dyin to have a good MX game on our 360.
anyone else notice the Vehicles page? There were Suzuki, Yamaha, etc - not just "Blaze" and the other fictitious brands.
Yeah, the game is $40, but I hope they give us a decent amount of fun without having to download a bunch more crap.

This game was tailor made for the kiddies... No one whom has ever thrown a leg over a real bike before would buy this crap. I want a realistic MX racing game with points series, real tracks and real bikes. FIM World Motocross is my only hope..... Comon Black Bean.... get it going!
I agree chadley75, REAL RACING. Keep the dumb FMX unrealistic air time crap, give me a scrub and whip and call it good.
EA Sports makes great sports sim games like madden, I bet they would do a really good job making an mx game. (real places, real bikes, sponsors, yadda yadda yadda.)

I also had a hard time with reflex, I am not much of a gamer but really like Untamed, I only put maybe an hour of time into reflex but it just wasn't fun, I am really hoping this feel more like untamed.
PS I also think there new trailers are realllllly lame looking

ea's supercross circuit was ahead of its time, still have mine on ps1. used to love setting up a season on 2 player and having the championship points
nickmoto reflex does have preload,pull back on take off, just fyi
I've bought every 'moto' game that comes out. 'Reflex' was weird at first but now is a blast. Just bored with the same old tracks. Bring back the Track/Bike/Rider 'Editor' so we can make & upload our own designs!

Longer Rant:
Untamed was for the thumb-less Neanderthals. All you had to do was lean back and you won every race. As for Reflex, it seems that some just couldn’t figure out the complexity of the two joysticks. Reflex looked and played far better than any MX game thus far. When you go fast, it actually feels like you’re ride’n fast! Granted, the physics where the bike is just too light and flickable felling (bmx like) resulted in virtual soil samples. Alive looks like the original MX vs ATV, which is sad as far as product development goes. The fans really lose here. Rainbow studios must not have been used by THQ to develop the game. That may be the biggest driver for the poor quality visually.
If Reflex got a few software updates then it would be an outright epic game. Bring in a control variation similar to Untamed that allows the beginners to have fun playing while still having the advanced controls for those that actually like a challenge. Then sell track, gear, and equipment updates online to keep up the relevance. THQ seriously dropped the ball on this. All of the overhead needed to push out a disk and jewel case could’ve been omitted for pure software updates. Maybe the Gamestops’s of the world have a stake in this not being the chosen strategy, resulting in the end-user getting forgotten.
Yesss! KTM 350! The graphics look stupid and the track design looks retarded. Theres a frickin intersection on the motocross track. How's THAT realistic?!
@cxd56 EA sports did do a game. it was called Supercross 2000 or something like that. It was for the PS1 and had Jeff Emig on the cover. It was the first game to have track deterioration. It was beastly for its time haha.

I am honestly dumbfounded at how terrible this looks, as well as how godawful the trailers for it have been. No way I'm gonna continue support the half ass word they do on these games by buying this one.
This game looks stupid just like the last one- anybody played it yet? When they show you 5 seconds worth you know something is up. Last time i bought it for 46$ it sucked took it to gamestop, they gave me 6$. hoopefully i can rent this thing somewhere, but im not optimistic, they just get worse
Chadley, you need ricky carmichael 2002 superfly, if you can get your hands on one. Better than mx unleashed (2004) which was pretty good

I love reflex there is noway alive is going to be a step backwards, well atleast i hope so. I will purchase sameday its out for sure.

i realized i was wrong on my previous comment, supercross circuit was made by 989 studios not ea sports. looked at the game when i got home. it has #3 mike larocco on the cover. the game has the actual sx & mx tracks from that year.
Saw a One Industries Rockstar helmet in the trailer, Rockstar is somewhere throughout this game. Wheres Monster at?
Watching this makes me wanna cancel my pre-order. All you guys are right this looks like shit an pre-loading up jumps sucks. why did they have to change so much,reflex was good dont fix whats not broke right!!!! just add more tracks an were good. plus this game is 40 but with all the dlc you gotta buy what a rip off,

The problem with mx vs atv unleashed is that other riders wont race you, they just ride over the berm and crash rather than letting you pass them. Its like riding around by yourself, the other guys are more like assassins that just appear out of nowhere and disappear just as suddenly, which is very unrealistic imo. But the graphics and the tracks are really cool. And SUPERMOTO kicks ASS.
I've had just about every MX game out there. This one looks beyond horrible. NO WAY am I going to support them. This is utter crap, they should be ashamed to even put it out. Lost my sale.
Wow. This just looks so bad.. I wonder if they were goon riding when creating the models for the riders. It just looks so "arcade-ish" - not to mention the taunting and yelling that the riders do in the game.
This franchise has gone by the wayside, sadly. The potential with Reflex was so high - and it's nowhere near reached the level it could have gotten (or so it seems).
They are still using the two stick system from reflex. Preloaded isn't back it's still seat bouncing like in reflex, but now it depends on how far back you pull on the stick that determines how much the shock spring compresses. The meter just let's you know.
I am continually surprised at the developers for games, and many products for that matter, which push development just for the sake of pushing it. For example, COD MW2 was followed by the less than appealing Black Ops.
Reflex needs a simple control function for the foolish players out there that cannot comprehend how to use two joysticks and press the other buttons. That has been the biggest backlash against Reflex, because the impatient can’t just pick up the controller and win a race on rookie by fifteen seconds. “It’s too hard,” they complain. If they practiced they'd win a five lap race on all time by thirty seconds. Any rider who plays figures it out quickly, but the game isn't made for riders only. That is why the easy controls setups are needed. Online play, though the matchmaking is awful, allows for a real challenge for the real players.
I wish I could get investors together and buy the rights to Reflex so that I could keep it "alive" and show these buffoons how it should've been done from the start.
MX video games are going backwards it seems. The 1980's stand-up arcade game "enduro racer" was way better than this new junk they are churning out now.

MTX mototrax is from 2004, so it makes perfect sense that it might be a good one. I'll try to rent it for my PS2. It's hard to tell anything from the crappy trailers.
is this a joke? the riders look like c class beginners...taunting and gestures? wth? rainbow is this the 5 year old version? whens the realistic one coming?why is it so hard to make a national look like a national? is traction a bad thing? low end on the motor? have you heard a 250f modified screaming its guts out? it doesnt sound like a moped.no supercross until we buy it? look at all the other games and we get this garbage...they blamed our online setup or service for reflex,oh ok.you cant race a realistic season.is this the only game in the world like that? i bet madden 11 you cant play a season,they are going to use the rainbow method. 3 games of football,then 2 matches of tennis.and manning and brady wont be good,like rc and bubba in reflex. what a joke. rainbow you have lost another sale.thank god for moto gp.
so uhh...i'm pretty sure everyone was hating on the way reflex looked before it came out and how it looked like a big dog turd but when we actually got to play it, it was accepted by many as a great game. don't be so quick to judge this game off just a trailer people. it's still going to be a good game. and ea sports made supercross 2000. stupid game but only thing cool about it was that they had a daytona style supercross track on it
i doubt many called reflex a great game. look at the forums. some good ideas,but clearly unfinished.ill give you this moto k,if you can turn off the taunts and run a real season with competitive ai and good online play and it has realistic nationals and sx tracks ill buy it.id rather pay full game price for a fully finished game. i just dont see that happening.

ok spooky i agree with ya 100% on having realistic tracks and it would be sweet to have a full season setup, not like reflex where it had multiple mini series'. but hey...at least they did away with the turbo button that many of our racing games have been plagued with haha
Ricky carmichael 2002 superfly has a powerslide button that is really fun to use. Not for beginners, but well worth the time if you are into it.
to me it looks like reflex with "alive" slapped on the cover. not that reflex was bad or anything but it just looks to similar to reflex to me. why not just add more tracks and new stuff to reflex instead of putting out a whole new game

Quit your complainin', like a bunch of women. It's a game to help you pass the time til you can ride for real. It's not a substitute, just something to do when it's to rainy, to
cold or just can't get out. It does pass the time until you can hit the trail for real. I really liked Untamed and Reflex. I passed quiet a few hours with both.

MX vs ATV Alive is totally CRAP. Do not buy it...keep Reflex, much better.
