Arrow almost clipped a tough block in the whoops!

looks like its gonna be very low lap times. (or maybe red arrow IS getting much faster haha) Kinda wish they would switch to a outdoor MX style and run for say 20minutes + 2 laps might make things more interesting. These things are getting to quik and before you know it the race is over. Just my opinion. Track does look fun though!!

Red arrow's getting overzealous! doubling off a table??? or would you call that table off triple? Oh then getting huckabucked! haha. Thank you Fro for expanding our goofy moto talk.

Profile Picture
cptintensity903 wrote: 11:40am March 16, 2011

that table section isn't happening unless there's a lip on the edge like back in the day. last week they were barely able to skim from high to low, there's no way they can go low to high!

Anyone else notice the position tower? Grant, Dungey, Reed, Poto, and then Millsaps on lap 20. Ah I'd love to see that race.

Man I think the red arrow needs to compete in best whip this year at the x games, he would give potter some stiff competition fa sho.

I totally agree, a 20+2 format would be so much better for the fans and for the racing i think. Its easy for the guy that crashes on lap 15 to set cruise control for the last 5 laps and save points, but if there were still 10 more laps at that point it would be a different story

Profile Picture
steveman wrote: 12:04pm March 16, 2011

Looks like it won't be as one-lined like most of the previous tracks...

Profile Picture
Bad Billy Robinson wrote: 12:16pm March 16, 2011

I understand that there is only so much room to work with and moving out of a stadium is not an option because this is a spectator sport that generates alot of money. I also think most people would rather see around 1 minute lap times. I think 20 min + 2 laps would be a very reasonable compromise. there have been a couple races this year were it looked like the guys barley broke a sweat.

No sand, a bunch of 180 bowl turns, short lap times and still close to the one line wonders that plague SX. It will be a yawner unless Stewie goes over the bars.

right hand first corner... gonna be a pile-up

Profile Picture
M@ wrote: 12:18pm March 16, 2011

20min +2 laps sounds so nice. then it would make it easier for live tv coverage as well. more of a routine schedule.

Profile Picture
_6ril_ wrote: 12:32pm March 16, 2011

The position tower says lap 15. Wilson won the lite class, followed by M. Stewart, Baggett, Barcia and then... the #48!

Profile Picture
_6ril_ wrote: 12:34pm March 16, 2011

And why red arrow is still red? It's not supported by Honda anymore. Only RacerX and DCShoes...!

FYI, askmen just posted an article of the 10 hardest sports. Guess which one didn't make the sport. but they did list swimming and..cough gay cough...tennis.

sure is a long long straight away to the finish line (compared to usual) and if they dont let off, they could become astronauts, I LIKE IT !!! its going to be like playing chicken, who will hold it on the longest, who will actually launch the jump with the rear wheel locked, or is it a 100' finish line jump. No matter, looks like a cool track, I too agree with 20+2 and one obstacle needed more ( IMO ) is the moggles like Daytona, made for some cool "Huckabucking" hahaha

Dunge & Cannard need to be on the top step, make the points exciting.

FroLives wrote: 1:45pm March 16, 2011

Red Arrow is a player this year. He has been riding strong all year. Not sure anyone is gonna be able to do that quad (other than Red Arrow) "Huckabucked"!!! Ha.

20+2 would be better for the viewing fans but I doubt the TV network(s) will ever buy into it.

Too bad, because it would eliminate their need to include additional, weak, filler segments on some weekends when the lap times are well under a minute.

Agreed, the 'right-hand' first turn will bring some more drama..., hope the injury list doesn't go up after this weekend.

'Red-Arrow' seems to have a rear shock problem this week. Lots of a$$-end kick-out over the first table-top and in the middle of the whoop section.

His suspension guy needs to get out the wrenches before 'Red-Arrow' pulls a JS7 style 'Huck-a-buck' get-off.

It took me acouple of laps with the red arrow to figure it all out? Might be the best track of the year ecept for DAytona. WE will hav to wait till DC psts some pics of the real track.

Surprised JAX got another SX after last year
The place was EMPTY
We sat on the 50 yard line by ourselves
Don't know why they moved it away from Orlando as it was always packed
oh well I'll be there -

Profile Picture
bd200 wrote: 3:28pm March 16, 2011

the track kinda looks easy compared to last week. But time will tell. I liked Orlando, stopped by to watch the race while on Spring Break one year. 2005 I think. I did win RC's autographed jersey at that race though. So that was cool. But I liked the race and the area. Heard some of the teams saying it was in the ghetto, but I never thought it was that bad. But Jacksonville seems empty alot. After hearing some comments, it must be. Wonder if that race ends up out west too??

And, would somebody Please move that BOAT, before the red arrow gets hurt ?

actually, mine was a boat joke, not an arrow joke.

Im tired of seeing the same old stuff on an sx track, they need to make it a bit more interesting like a wall of death and split sections, its too much of the same stuff, except for daytona

Hey team Arrow, after watching your arrow's handling through the whoops, I can see that your compression dampening (called "damping" by a certain know-it-all magazine writer, not a Racer X writer, long before RX became a mag...a writer who took it upon himself to change the meaning of dampening by re-naming it damping) is too stiff, and your rebound dampening is also too stiff. Your rear suspension is packing too, so you've got some work to do with re-valving, springing and adjusting the clickers to get that arrow tracking straight as an...well, straight as a KX500 in some 4th gear whoops.

Give up complaining about the short lap times & races. We've complained plenty and it's fallen on deaf ears. Also, with the finish line where it is, it'll be more like 14 1/2 & 19 1/2 laps per race.

Motohead279 wrote: 10:25am March 17, 2011

I have never made it to the Jacksonville race but being from Tampa I have been to Tampa and Orlando races every year they have had it since I moved here in 02'. Unfortunately both of these races had pretty lousy attendances, around 20,000 people roughly, which is a shame becasue FL should have more support than that. I wish they were back on the schedule but I don't blame them for moving it. Also, Orlando is in the ghetto. There were a few years we had to park in the front yard of a crackhouse becasue of lack of parking.

steveman, I don't see where you get this track is not one-lined. Nothing in it makes for multiple lines. The quad idea is kina boring - like seeing how many cars Evil Knevil can jump. Indy was challenging for sure because some riders came off the track just laying their heads down on their bars. This track will be short lap times, one lined, maybe slick - where have we heard this before? zzzzzz...

HELP! Did anyone here notice that this "Jacksonville Animated Track Map - Racer X Online" looks NOTHING like the Jacksonville Track Map shown on the Ticketmaster website?

The Animated Track Map looks like the best SX track this season (besides Daytona); I'll be at the Jacksonville race with my wife and two sons, and we can't wait! FYI- It's sunny, 78 degrees, with no rain expected here in J-Ville!

The Jacksonville stadium and surrounding area is ghetto, WTF!? Whoa, Time Out!

The Jacksonville SX is held at Everbank Field (Home of the NFL Jaguars) and the facility is huge, relatively new, and recently upgraded including the addition of two larger Jumbo Screens! The Jacksonville Stadium (Everbank Field) is truly a 1st-class multi-use facility (Hell, the Super Bowl was held there just a few years ago!)! The Stadium also sits right next to a brand new (all-brick) beautiful Coliseum and a brand new (also all-brick and beautiful) Professional Baseball Park, with plenty of parking, all of which sits right on the beautiful the St. Johns River! You can even drive your boat right up to the Stadium and attend events, try that anywhere else an SX race is held!

As for attendance figures, this is built over many years, so please keep the SX in Jacksonville and it can, and will, grow and grow and become one of the top stops for SX on the East Coast.

PS: Keep in mind that all the top riders now call Florida home, and the Jacksonville SX is thier "Home Track"!
