I hope JS gets his " wake up call " soon... Man, that kid just doesnt think sometimes.. Its like he has a total loss of concentration.
Just my usual congtat's to all that make the Yamaha wake up call! special holler to Vicki Golden for making the main in the arenacross!!!! I always like to check out all of the events and see who is out there! Lets Race.
I have another take on this season. Last year Dungey ran straight up with a healthy Villopoto through St. Louis and never gave up the points lead. That was 14 races into the 17 race season. Clearly, RD is every bit as fast as RV. The difference for RD and JS this season I think is distractions. DeCoster was let go and RD lost some confidence and guidance. JS just fired Brooks and let’s face it there is enough on a racer’s plate to not have to worry about day to day operations of a team. If you recall, when RV was getting into it with Lawrence, RV was not doing so well. RV has no distractions this season. He only needs to worry about racing. It shows.
@mxmofo, loss of concentration? setting the fastest laps after a gnarly crash? i wouldnt call that loss of concentration, i agree however that he does not think sometimes, but dont make a bold statement like that when he was obviously the fastest.
first of all, bubba lost traction and suddenly grabbed it when he went up the face of the jump. my friend has done the same thing. for all you idiots out there saying he was riding like an idiot, he wasnt! he was at his normal pace and he looked comfortable. anybody could have had the same mistake
james, fastest laps AFTER a crash is what a top rider usually does when he is after a title. they are trying to salvage points. But the Daytona track really got bad and broked down. Good ride by Dungey and Reed too, they were fast. Roczen did well on the 350, got a little gift of two extra places thanks to Matcalfe, who is really struggling. And Short getting another top 5 on the 350. Some guys thought Roczen would beat Shorty in the big bike class this year. Glad the kid got out healthy, he has a bright future.
@ james,, tell me the difference between a loss of concentration and not thinking ??? I loss of concentrationg is not THINKING about whats at hand, and thats how he crashed,,, like he does quite often..
are you retarted mxmofo?
@ motocross7,, eveidentially you are retarded, because you cant seem to answer my simple question ...
would like to hear what happend from the horses mouth...... but my take is he possibly hit netural after excellerating out of the corner leading up to the jump, or hit netural while accelerating off the jump? panic rev did nothing to bring the rear wheel down, in netural? its happenend to me, and its my take of what happened, only JS really knows what happenend... all you dunge chuggers, don't forget RV had a DNF last year giving dunge the the chance to win the champion ship, and if RV would of not broke his leg, the series had to go to vegas to deceide the winner,, how soon you dunge chuggers forget.....dunge cant beat RV, RV is in dunges head and dunge is scared.....
mxmofo- I'll answer your question. The difference is motocross7 said he doesn't think SOMETIMES. You said he wasn't thinking THAT TIME. JS7 was completely on his A game that night, and you know he was thinking/concentrating because he made the smart decision to tuck and roll after he was bucked. Everyone gets kicked now and then; the tracks bite sometimes and has nothing to do with your mental state. FYI - typing things like "I loss of concentrationg" is pretty retarded. That's ok, you weren't thinking.
Stewart. plain and simple. Crash or not .Thinkin or not .. Still awesome to watch on a supercross track. stop the haten and just admit he hauls the mail!!!!!!
You know, I''m a JS fan,, but I tell ya what,,, I sure can see that other JS fans seem to clearly ignore the obvious.... @ acejas,,, it is posible to lose concentration ( focus ) for a split second,, right ???
mxmofo, do you ride, cause at JS ability and speed losing focus or what ever you call it never happens at JS level. if you have ever gone fast you know your perception widens, and you are able to think and see things happen, not to mention be able to react to things in a instant...... it was not a big jump, he might of gotten a bad kick off the face, but should of been able to adjust in air with the throttle,,, but if he was in netural adjustment is not available, we all heard his bike panic rev,,,,, it should of adjusted,,, if he was not focusing we would of not heard him panic rev......... not hatten just let it go...
JS7 is a great rider and extremely fast. Speed alone doesn't win you championships. He needs to learn to settle into a comfortable pace and stay with it. Until then he will wod himself up one of these times trying to go so fast and end his carrer. RV said James was fast and he just settled into to his comfortable pace.(smart racing) Look at the KING or the GOAT. If they weren't feeling it they just settled in and looked forward to next week. It's not worth getting hurt over to be the fastest all the time.
@ colorado kid,,, no, I dont rid anymore,, but its clear to me that you hav never ridden. When you say STUPID things like this,,,,
"""" he might of gotten a bad kick off the face, but should of been able to adjust in air with the throttle,,, but if he was in netural adjustment is not available, we all heard his bike panic rev,,,,, it should of adjusted,,""""
Let me clue you in on a little secret,,, you can only adjust so much with the throttle !!!!! When you get bucked that hard,, you are going over the bars wether you like it or not, no matter what you do... C'mon, use your head !!!
for yall's info Js7 tweeted that he did not mean to catch that wheelie off the jump and ilt was a mistake, he says he is fine. I have made some mistakes and crashed pretty hard myself got up and did the best I could. Somtimes the strangest crashes will happen when you are feeling "the zone" and you dont even know what happened?
mxmofo- Ok I'll give you that, you can lose "focus" for a split second, but I honestly didn't see it in that moment. I saw a miscalculation, 3+4=6 sorta thing (which is still thinking). Over throttled expecting a little roost and a little wheelie but got lots of traction and lots of wheelie. The track was ever changing as well as grip (and shadows) so it looked like an easy thing anyone could've done.
mx mofo, i don't agree,,, yes i do ride. And yes the throttle only works so much, but JS bike did not correct at....it should of brought the rear down some what,,,, it does when i do it.....
Does it make you feel smarter when you call people stupid.... or when you call people dumb,,,,, maybe its a good thing you no longer ride..........
@ colorado kid,, I did NOT call you stupid,,, I said you say "STUPID things", there is a difference,,, right ????
@ acejas,, I agree with that somewhat.. The problem is JS does that sort of thing constantly...
Actually James hasn't gone down that much more than any other rider this year (and I don't count Reeds move). He does hang it out more than the rest, but he wouldn't be James f'n Stewart if he didn't. All we can do is hope he stays on 2 wheels and doesn't break anything, but I also hope his ballz out style never changes. It's just so amazing to watch.
JonR290... RD did not exactly run straight up with a healty RV. When RV got hurt he had 7 wins and RD had 4. RV had won 4 of the previous 5 races and was on a roll. The only reason the points were as close as they were is becasue RV got a DNF when his exhaust got packed wiht dirt during a crash.
And it was RD who lost the supercross lites title because he was getting into it with Lawrence. The only time RD beats RV is if RV has a problem during the race.
DUNGEY RULES !!!!! (except when Stewart, Villopoto or Reed are in the same race)
You don't get mud in your pipe if you keep it on 2 wheels. Just sayin'.
Mud in the pipe was not the important part, the question was whether RD can run with a healthy RV. The answer has been not very often.
Ok, what your basically saying is that RV was the fastest man on the track last year. No doubt there. I just think it's asinine that people keep trying to put an asterisk on Dungey's Championship. Obviously your just talking about speed. My bad.
I don't understand why there is any debate as to how JS crashed. Its simple. He came out of that turn and had so much power to the ground that he wheelied through the exit and up the face of the lip while trying to seat-bounce. Have you ever tried to seat bounce anything while in a wheelie? Its an instant endo. No amount of panic rev would save you from it.
I don't think it was a loss of concentration or focus or whatever you guys are fighting about. I think he was just trying to pin it (when is he not?) and made a mistake. Happens to everyone.
On a side note:
I'm not a huge Dungey fan, (im rooting for RV & KDub) but I think its funny all the people who have been baggin on him non-stop about how he doesn't have anything for "the top 4" and that he never would have won if the top dogs had been there last year... well you are all being proven wrong. If you credit him for 4th or whatever position he was in when he had that bizarre mechanical (chain derailed and not his fault at all), he would be right there in 2nd place in points and only about 10 behind RV. Just sayin. Hate him all you want but his consistency is proving to be just as good as the extra 1/4 second (or less) per lap that the "top 4" have on him.
I didn't say anything about an asterisk, I was just responding to JonR290's comment. The circumstances were favorable for RD last year just as they were favorable for CR the year before. I am not a proponent of asterisks.
Your right. That why I said my bad. You just confused me when you wrote "DUNGEY RULES !!!!! (except when Stewart, Villopoto or Reed are in the same race)" because taken out of context, how is that not an asterisk? About Reed, are you talking about 08 or 09? 09 was not favorable for him unless he's happy about being runner-up on arguably his peak year of performance.
This is just my opinion. I don't want to "beat a dead horse over James' crash. I would like to say that the young men on 350's more than likely would have had a place or two higher finishes if they were on 450's. Short maybe a podium, Rocsen, maybe top five, and Aless a top ten or a top five. This being a bit more wide open track than other supercrosses may cater to the 450's a bit better. I would like to say a positive word abou JS7. He is a champion in my book after shouldering back up to a top ten finish after such a debilitationg crash. I will always be a James Stewart fan, he is the most exciting rider I have ever whatched from a spectator pointg of view. And I have been fallowing the sport since Marty Smith, and Bob Hannah dueled. James is just pushing the envolope that it is almost humanly impossible not to have as many get-offs as he has had. Just think what is winning record would look like if he hadn't crashed so much. The fact that we all face is that it did happen, and no body can change the past. How I wish that James could have been counceled ealier on in his career, as Johnny O'mara is attempting to do now.
