That's some scary looking stuff to an old guy like me. Imagine 20 laps of that track with a pack of crazed riders trying to kick your ass over every inch of it.
RC ran about a 1 min lap riding like taylor swift on a perfect track..so once it gets rough laps are gonna be about the same..track actually looks good..dungey is gonna step up watch

Track looks 15 feet wide. Tight for passing. Some spots seem to make the rider run into himself landing on upsides, which might be hard on Barcia's wrist. Hopefully the fast guys will find their groove, haul ass and land the downsides of a lot of that stuff. I realize the track is brand new, lines aren't dialed, it's soft and heavy and all that. RC can't be jacking a wrist when he's got NASCAR gold at stake. It's cool to see life from RC's viewpoint.
It looks pretty technical and narrow. It might not be the rough high speed outdoor type Daytona that we used to see.

well techincally 1 perfect saeson on a CR250 and one on a CRF450..... i believe he actually did get an undefeated season on the RMZ450 but it wasnt perfect... he lost a few motos.... but still got every overall. i think... ive slept since then :)
Some of the fans are rather perceptive. It is going to get rough and gnarly. And it seems narrow, technical and tight. But no matter what happens with track, I think that Stewie is going to go for a win after the shot he took from Chaddie .... LOOK OUT!!
I love watching RC ride this track! I wish he was still Racing MX, but I understand he needs new challenges... in any case, I was thinking that since RD and RC are such good friends and RC had something to do with the design, and is riding it before everyone else, this might actually be a Race that RD can win. just sayin'.
Trey, I cannot even begin to tell you what a blithering idiot you are. He wasn't even working it, and he was still hitting all of the jumps, and none of the berms or lines have been established at all. Looks like he was clearing everything he intended to in about 2 laps by looking at the other tire marks on the track.
Having a discussion with someone that has never ridden anything more powerful than his little Chinese made, hardware store purchased pile of crap, about anything moto is quite pointless.
How many laps would it have taken you to get over even the simplest of obstacles on your Chinese lead burner?
The track will get hammered. It always does. I gotta say as much as I don't care for him, Stewart will be hard to beat at Daytona, but I could see Dungey having a break out race this weekend. Gonna be fun to watch!
RD's offroad skills are going to shine on the tight and rough. RV also has good times at Daytona.
Is it just me, or does this track look like a cross between a modern SX track and and older 90's track? I watched an old video of pastrana winning here (so sweet, dode has wheels) and the track looked alot like this.

RV, RD, JS, CR, TC, RD, DM and AS all could pull this out... and I bet we will see some surprises too. Daytona is special like that. Breakout sx race for the 800 anybody? haha we wont know until tomorrow...

By RD in the first part I meant Ricky Deitrich. He is riding with Valli Motorsports, and his offroad and endurance skills will be a huge help in Daytona.

lately ive been a reed fan when in the past i havnt. i used to be a stewart fan, still like him, but im finding myself wanting reed and villopoto to win. how can you not help but to think hes gonna shred. i think hes a little more cautious/mature this year, prolly doesnt want to get hurt anymore. cant really. im calling it right now...reed holeshots in front of stewart, stewart comes back to make a dirty pass stick on reed. they both get slowed up but only reed falls villopto and reed end up battling while stewart dominates. poto second reed third

RC's relaxed pace looks to have rendered a 1:45 lap time.

Damn that guy is still fast! And those who say "he can't handle the 450 anymore" or something bs like that, take a look at the tire marks that are on the track... that was like the 2 or 3 lap on the track, so IMO that's pretty damn fast for the first couple of laps on that track. RC is still the man!
Love the track. Gonna make for some really good racing. I like the old shool sections like the dragon backs and mogul section. And for the simple minded out there, don't get it twisted, the GOAT could easily drop 20 seconds off that lap time.(Even with the extra wieght and being out of shape).
And for Trey, hears some advice for ya. Its sometimes better to stand there and look stupid, than open your mouth and prove it.
If RC were still racing he'd probably be leading in points??? He's got too much to lose to be taking chances on a sight lap w/ a helmet cam. Screww you keyboard racers. RC could win the nats str8 up this year if he wanted to.
Not sure why you guys even waste the keystrokes to comment on Trey's boneheaded comment. Maybe next year Trey will get to ride an honorary helmet cam lap on a freshly-groomed Daytona SX track. Oh wait, that's reserved fot the greatest of all time.

Yep, RC's lap was a cool 1:30. I feel like if I trained extensively, rode every day for two years, and got some real SX knowledge, I might be able to match about seven-tenths of that pace for three or four laps. Wishful thinking? (Speaking of wishful thinking--1:20 lap times? Not happening.)
Also, I love the dome camera. Still, it's no match for the tracking shot they do every year at Daytona with the ATV side-by-side.

I must say that I REALLY enjoyed watching this video, because it didn't have a STUPID LAME SOUNDTRACK BLASTING IN MY FACE. yeah i know i can turn off the volume, but then it is like watching a silent movie with no sub-titles.
I watched it once, then tried to watch it a second time, but now the screen is all black. so i know its not on my end, racer x will you please ADRESS THIS PROBLEM?.I have heard other posters complain about it too.
For those of you saying that the track look like its super skinny, that's because this is a really wide angle lens, so everything looks skinnier than it actually is. RC could kick any of our asses, so just shut up and enjoy the video that Racer X has given us.

Wow, I loved this video and hope we see more of them! Is it just me, or did it look/sound like RC ran the entire track in 2nd gear? For sure he was not running a hot lap, which is fine. However, he rode like it was effortless, just jumping everything while looking like he was putting around -- man, RC has mad skills!
Also wanted to say tonights track and racing was AWESOME, great job with the track, the wide-open racing, at the HEART Bubba showed after his crash! Bubba was on fire before his big crash, also loved watching him pre-jump over that peak jump!

And you really think hes there to try huge triples and stuff no. Hes already proven what he can do. If he wanted to race he would be in amazing shape and still beat RV and JS7 and RD5.

RC gave us all a nice, casual, half speed, birds-eye view of a track that was clearly a brand new and in some places not-yet-finished surface.
