Pretty truck, but I would like to hook a big Ford to it and drag it all over the parking lot.
I wouldnt do that, you will be taking all the life out of that Ford in a couple seconds..
The Ford "Raptor" would destroy this thing!
Do you mention ALL the riders when they get new sponsors or only bubbas?
beandawg,,,, facts are facts,, you cant didpute them.. Ford cant even come close to the quality of Toyota..
Toyotas are nice, For my girl maybe! Toyotas are just that, Toys. Raptor Rules
Toyota might be a nice truck to put your bike in the back of, but it can't pull my 5th wheel to the races. I'm a Ford man all the way!
I would be embarrassed to be a grown man driving in a Toyota Tundra.
Like I said,, facts ar facts... Read 'em and weap... This is a PERFECT example of why "American" vehicles are not as dependable,,, its because of poeple like you guys that will by a Ford ( for example) , no matter what the quality is..
I guess all take this free truck from you ! Why did villopoto give his free truck to Twitch and go by a full size Ford !
All and all, Toyota is among the the highest quality vehicles,, it has been proven year in, and year out..
I had a 90 Toyota pickup, a 2000 Tundra, and now own a 2007 Tundra. They have all been exceptional vehicles that I have loved owning. Resale has been really good too. The last of the big three I owned was an 84 Chevy S10. It drove like a go-cart, the road noise was terrible, and it fell apart during the 78k miles I put on it. When I got my 90 Toyota, I thought I died and went to heaven. That sold me on the brand. I tried both Chevy and Ford in 2000 and after test driving all, returned to Toyota. That is just my honest opinion. I'm sure the new offerings from the big 3 are fine trucks, but once you have driven something better, its hard to go back.
Toyota makes a nice truck they just don't have the durability of a Ford. You really can't argue that point... if you really know anything about trucks/cars. Back to Bubba.... must be nice to get a brand new truck winning one SX race this year. Dungey is going to smoke Bubbles....
Wow... you guys are more opinionated about trucks than you are about MX. I guess I have been lucky. I owned a Toyota SR5 back in the day, a F350 crew cab, a ranger and I currently drive a chevrolet cargo van that is great for hauling the bikes. I have had no problems with any of them.
Being the owner of a "Taco," I got to take a Tundra up a nearly vertical cliff at Thunder Valley. It impressed me. We kept allowing others to go in front of us [test driving the "Taco"] so that we could test the Tundra
Some of you have stated the following..."facts are facts". Indeed, they are. Now please take a moment and google these three words "Toyota Tundra recall". Read through them and then google "Ford F-150 recall". Then the facts will be right in front of your eyes.
Backdraft,, I really dont think you wanna open up that can of worms.. I am pretty sure Toyota is much much much lower than Ford on the total amount of recalls.. There is a magazine called " CONSUMER REPORTS",, you should open one up sometime..
List: Top 10 Cars of 2010; Ford Only American Company to Show Gains; Chrysler and GM Dead Last They were followed by Toyota and Hyundai. Nissan and Volkswagen tied for with a score of 72. 1. Honda (77) 1. Subaru (77) 3. Toyota (74) 4. Hyundai (73) 5. Nissan (72) 5. Volkswagen (72) Ford: Ford graded out as the 11th best automaker and was the only American manufacturer to improve its score since last year. General Motors: Just as it did last year, Consumer Reports gave General Motors the second-worst grade amongst automakers. Chrysler: Chrysler finished dead last in the rankings. Again. The automaker’s overall score dropped two points from last year. http://www.cardealerreviews.org/?p=252667
Dungeys days are done , as soon as Bubba lines up ..You all know it !
You want proof,, there it is.... Toyota is 3rd,,,, and Ford is 11th,,,, hmmmmmmmm,, guess i was right..
According to US News: Tacoma ranks first in the compact class. In the real class of trucks, FULLSIZE, Tundra is beat out by Ford, Chevy and Dodge. But dont trust me check it out for yourself. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/Full-Size-Pickup-Trucks/ hmmmmmmmmmm... maybe you were wrong...
halsey, you are an idiot. We use nothing but Fords on the jobsite anymore because nothing else will hold up. Grow up kid. Any truck will last if you drive it like a car. Those Toys wouldnt last a week on the jobsite with all the weight we carry in our trucks. My bosses Ford weighed 12,300 pounds the last time we drove it on a scale, not counting the welder we pull. There isnt a Toyota made that can handle that weight. And the Ford has over 270,000 miles on it. Original engine and tranny also. So HALSEY, you just keep stabbing your country in the back. And I'll keep driving quality built American made cars and trucks. By the way, do you read the news, Toyota just recalled another 480,000 more vehicles yesterday, on top of the hundreds of thousands they already recalled. Sounds like problems to me. GO USA. I'm proud to be American.
bhfox39, those test are set up perfectly by the automakers. Its an old deal. Heck JEEP did that 20 years ago. I got to go to a JEEP 101 thing way back then. Its kinda fun, but set up for their vehicles wheelbase and everything. Toyota trucks are built for people who dont work the crap out of them. They arent set up to be beat on like an American truck. They are cars with beds, almost.
I have never gotten less than 200,000 miles out of every car I have owned my entire adult life. And never drove a Japanese vehicle but one. A Nissan truck, after changing the 5-speed tranny at 63,000 miles, It blew again at 97,000 miles. Then the transfer case lost low range. Then at 110,000 miles the engine burned so much oil I finally traded it for a JEEP. At 200,000 miles almost on the nose, my son took it. And is still driving it now over a year and a half later.
bd200 and kwtriple,, I wasnt really talking about "trucks," I was talking about OVERALL.. bd200, what you dont seem understand is, just because a truck is BIGGER and can haul more, does NOT mean its better QUALITY,, "grow up kid". I remeber when Toyota got in NASCAR.. Everyone was pissed becuase they wernt "American," but come to find out,, the CAMRY was the ONLY car in the field that is assembled in America,,, then everyone shut up... bd200, im pretty sure your little Ford have had many many more recalls than Toyota.. I put proof right in front of you, and you still deny it,, and your telling ME to grow up,,, thats funny.
bd200,, lets also remeber that Toyota hasnt been building the full size Tundra for very long.. Probally just another FACT you will overlook.
Ford Ranger, 5 speed single cab, 4 cly rules!
This entire thread is about trucks, so maybe you should try to keep up or are least argue the same point that everyone else is. Just in case you do want to talk about cars, have you ever driven a prius? They are without question the biggest pices of crap on the road. We have one at work and I sometimes have to drive it, I cannot believe that so many people think that is a car worth spending 25K on.
Sorry MXFLA but I test drove one of those and it was the slowest truck I have ever driven. I ended up wiht the V6 ranger that was OK, but had no towing capability and terrible gas mileage.
- kwtriple,,, Oh,, I see, now you just want to compare ONE vehicle, instead of the whole car company... Einsein, the reason why the Prius is 25K, is because its a HYBRID,, c'mon,, keep up.. Aruge all you want, the proof is right above you.... If it wasnt for their hard plastic interior trucks, Ford would have sunk years ago.....
BRAND LOYALTY IS ****ED, i buy whats good, not because of the badge.... but anyway i loved my 06 toyota tacoma, but it certainly was no work truck... you put a load of logs in tyhe back and it rode on the stops, the low end is never great on a DOHC engine either. not to mention the frame rust (that was a recall too i believe) but my father totalted it and i was still sad. believe it or not, those were just the negatives. there are far more positves, but you just couldnt expect to do a lot of work with it
Halsey...everyone on this thread is talking about trucks except you! How many motorcycles can you fit in a car? I know that it is a hybrid, that doesn't change that fact that it is a P.O.S. that costs 25K.
05kx250,, I also buy what is good. My Dad, years ago, would buy a Chevy, no matter how big of piece of junk it was.. He doesnt do that anymore.. A Tacoma is no work truck, like A Ford Ranger isnt a work truck.. Face it, Americans buy these HUGE pick-up trucks, with dualys and the biggest motor they have, then **** about gas prices.. funny...
and dont even use them... but i was dissapointed a bit, i dont believe i was "over taxing the truck". it was a beauty though..
kwtriple,,,WOW, if you think an F150 is better quality than a ful sized Tundra,, your lost..
lets just say none of them really make junk or they wouldnt be in business (though im not a ford fan)
halsey::: .....Quality and toughness are two different things....Toyota is rated higher in initial quality, but Ford has always been rated better for longevity and GVW... If you pay attention, Toyota's rating is always high in "initial quality" .....if you want an SUV, Toyota is a great place to look....If you want a WORK truck....Ford is the place to go, end of argument....go to any job site in the world and Fords outnumber everything 2-1....that is not an accident or a bias, that is years and years of real life applied experience........
halsey:::::...... My F150 gets better MPG than my buddy's brand new Tundra....so how is it the American trucks that are so bad?
ss97,, I know they are 2 different things,, as I stated in an earlier post.. The Tundra is ony rated for intial quality because they havent bben out for that long.. Give them time.. Ford is a great work truck,, simply because Ford, Chevy and Dodge are the only ones to make those $55k trucks with dualy and big diesel engines,, simple as that..
ahhhhh, because the Tundra is new, and has a bigger motor .... Am I right ????
haha,, rednecks and there fords...i r a ford guy.....ford doesn't drop millions into our sport
ridenbutter,,,,,, that is an EXCELLENT point !!!!!!!
hasley.. First of all, I didn't even mention a F150. Are you trying to put words in my mouth to suit your argument. I did mention that I owned a F350 which is the best truck I have ever owned or ridden in. I was quoting one of many top ten lists that rated the F series trucks over Toyotas. It is kind of lame to argue about trucks. It all comes down to what you need the truck for. If you want to drive around town maybe throw your bike and camping gear in the back then a Toyota is great for that. If you want to haul 4000 lbs or pull a trailer that weighs 8000 lbs then dont buy a Toyota. It is all personal preference and need. It is like saying a blonde is preferable to a brunette.
ss97, aroiund here GMS outnumber everything else as far as work trucks
kwtriple,, NO, I am not trying to put words into your mouth.. You just think a F150 is better than a Tundra, thats all.. Quit over-analyzing...
I have a Chevy duramax to pull my hauler and it walks all over any ford on the road,, I have a toyota Tacoma for work because they are great trucks and support motocross. the toyota wouldnt even budge my hauler but I cant jump the duramax like the tac....lol wooot...go bubba
wheres yzsean? what he would say: "when im not riding dungey, i drive a suzuki equator RM-Z DUNGEY ROOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Halsey.. buddy... how do you know what I think? I was looking to buy a truck two years ago. The only truck I was looking at was a four door Tacoma. It would pull my boat, my motorcycle trailers and had the passenger space I needed. I would have bought it but my son needed to get rid of his Chevy van that was set up for hauling bikes so I bought the van instead and saved about $15K. If you go back through the thread, I never said I like one better than the other, in fact orignally I said I owned a SR5, a F350 and the chevy van and they were all good vehicles. I have never owned a F150. I did own a 1956 F100 with a 429 and 456 rearend. Now that truck was BAD.
I was wondering where yzsean was in the bubba vs dungey thread from yesterday.
the guy with the big nose and blue ong sleeved shirt must be busy... doing who or what, i dont care... as long as he isnt here LOL
ridenbutter... I thought we were making progress with the whole blonde vs brunette type argument over trucks. I owned a F350 crew cab with a 460 that I would put up against any truck, including your duramax.
kwtriple,, Oh, so you dont think and F150 is better than a Tundra ?? I just figured since you were ragging on how bad the Prius is, you hated Toyota.. Like I said, I buy what is best, and Toyota is one of them at the top. As far as trucks go, I would still buy a Toyota.. If I were a farmer, and could afford to buy a new truck every 3 years, it may be different..
also what you must consider is if you need anything bigger then a half ton then you cvant buy toyota..
I havent driven a F150 or a Tundra so I cant say which is better. I have driven a Prius and it is a P.O.S.
05kx250,, yes, I stated that earlier,, and thats why you dont see many Toyota "work" trucks..
Just because someone buys a Ford does not make them a redneck or a farmer. That was a stupid F'ing post. I am very lucky to owner of a Raptor and that is the funnest/ best truck I've ever driven. Not a work truck at all but suits my needs as far as off-roading and carrying my bikes to get to the track. Toyota is not bad either. I like the Tacoma a lot. Nice sporty truck to take into the hills here in SoCal.
i actually think the raptor is a cool truck, but id rather a powerwagon (a BIT of loyalty there) and halsey, since when do american cars and trucks not last past 3 years? please enlighten us
hasley, it doesnt have to be a diesel or dually to be able to do some work. It can be a half-ton and get work done. If you like your car/truck toy then thats great. But the best built longest lasting, and best looking truck out there is the Ford. Has nothing to do with rednecks. The Raptor is a badas@ truck by the way. 425 horsepower in that thing. 35 inch tires stock. Gotta love it.
halsey, its kinda funny you say you where talking about cars too. The Ford Fusion was named "highest initial quality car" built in 2009/2010. So there you go. And that was by JDPower, who at one time in the '70's, was contracted to Toyota. And still work for them,.So if they didnt pick the Toyota, that says something.
they all claim to have the longest lasting truck on the road.... so since you're in love with ford you believe them?
and isnt best looking an opinion? personally i think they look like a tunka truck and have the lines of a box
05kx250,, My point was, if I could afford one that often,, not saying they dont last,,my God..... bd200,, the Raptor is a cool truck, my nieghbor, and my homebuilder just got one a couple months ago.. It nice looking, but just because its got 425 horseys and big tires, doesnt mean its QUALITY.. Its also funny you just talk about ONE vehicle, and not the whole company. Ford builds ONE decent car, and yet they are a great car company in your eyes,, funny....
Mustang, Flex, Fusion, Fords line of trucks, and my raptor have pretty damn good quality. Toyota does as well. Both sides bashing the other in terms of quality an performance is dumb. Both sides have had recalls. I like Ford better because it fits me personally, but that doesn't mean Toyota is crap.
you did say something like that...ugh im not gouing through this with you again! you have enough people to argue with
Hey... who thinks Stewart is going to beat Dungey? All this truck talk has gone on way too long.
JJ, Toyota is ranked HIGHER in quality than Ford,,, by a mile.... Some Americans just cant deal with the facts,, and that may be part of our problem... I dont recall Toyota getting any bailout money,,,, from US,, the taxpayers....
kwtriple,,, hahahahaha, I agree..... I like RD, because he's a Minnesota Boy, and we dont get to see that very often in the Midwest,, but JS is just pure SPEED,,,, and a little dangerous...
Halsey, I thought GM and Dodge took bailout money, not Ford?
TOYOTA MOVING FORWARD...@ FULL THROTTLE,and Ford was the one American auto co. that didn't take bail out money.Long live Ford.
I just have one thing to say motor trend truck of the year for 2010 is the Dodge Ram heavy duty now all of you stop talking about your Toys, Fords & Chevy's and get back to motocross. RD will stay on top for a long time and JS just wants to be a star not a motocross racer!!!
Not hating but RV's truck is better than this.
Halsey I agree with you, I work in the collision center at a Ford dealer, everything I take apart on their cars is made in Mexico and countries Ive never heard of.None of the mechanics drive Fords either because they know their junk.I owned a 01 Super Duty diesel and have a stack of repair bills that fills a fileing cabinet. Now I drive a 05 Tundra and think this could be the best truck ever built, made in the usa with american and Japenese parts that work and dont leave me stranded.I laugh every day when I see a mechanic have to pull the whole cab off a F150 and super duty to put head gaskets in @3000 dollars.I also owned a 99 GMC, but after a tranny, rear end, and $8000 dollars later Ill stick with my Honda Civic, Subaru Legacy, and Tundra with zero repairs exept for brakes and tires.
MXR540,, you may be right.. all I know is our President is bailing EVERYONE out,, but me... I need to be an illegal alien,, then I can live happily ever after, and not pay for anything..
ownedbychina,,, thats waht I'm talkin' about... The "American" car companies are getting better,,, just becuase they have to,, and thats a fact.. You have obviously read my earlier posts.. You know what going on,,, thanks Dude,, I need all the help i can get..
Another new toy for the Puppet.
And by the way our dealership also has Toyota,GMC, and Buick, what people dont know is that a lot of GM trucks are being built in Mexico just over the border with a lot of garbage mexican parts, if anybody buys a GM after the bailout they need to read about how GM hasnt paid a penny back from their bailout and are still bankrupt.I will not buy from a company that screwed tax payers then lies about it on t.v.
sic truck- Just what he needs more money, more pressure and more people to please. I'm glad bubbles is back and cant wait to see him on the track. I hope he doesnt ride over his head and bust himself up. He should try and ease into it and go injury free for a few years.

Does that mean he is going to race for jgracing next year
hey boys i drive a VW dual cab ute/truck thingy.... it looks weird has plenty of space in the cab and in the tray, goes like a scolded cat & gets 35mpg loaded... friends laugh at my truck becauase its not as TUFF looking as what i used to drive but it serves a purpose and it does it good... who knew i would ever own a bloody VW
ownedbychina, you can stop your lying now. We arent that dumb. Its already well known that GM has paid back over 150 million dollars of their loan back. Its true fool. And all car companies build some out of the country. Toyotas made in the US are still foreign car companies and the profits go out of our country adding to our trade deficit. And foreign car manufacturers dont pay near the tax on their earnings as American auto companies do. ownedbychina needs to get the info before telling lies on here. GM has paid alot back already.GM didnt screw any taxpayer, its basiclly a loan. The banks screwed us over, take it out on them. Do your homework, Ford has a huge truck plant in Louisville KY. and in Michigan. My JEEPS are built in Toledo OH. And contain over 92% parts from the U.S. I checked before I bought. And they are well built and very dependable. I expect nothing less from American workmanship and design. Go U.S.A.
not to join in on the **** storm, but do you guys relieze that toyota has more cars that are built in north america then your faithful fords? they built a huge plant in texas and employee more then double the number of america workers in that 1 plant then gm layed off, not counting their other us plants. i have a 03 f-250 personal, and have used a 08 tundra for work. work is towning a 34 ft 10,000 plus trailer across the u.s. i have over 100k miles and not one issue. about 12-13 mgp and never a strugle. the tundra will pull better then my personal f-250 by far. now if your talking about towing huge toy box with 6 bikes that weighs 16,000 pds then you are needing a 1 ton truck. keep in mind the tundra IS a half ton, but even a f-350 or a 1ton dura max will need extra help pulling a 16k trailer, ie air bags and chips, exhaught, trans coolers, etc.
Halsey : Toyota has nothing that is in the same class as the Ford Raptor! Nobody does! Do you even know what the Raptor is?
Come on you guys let's compare apples to apples. In this weight class the Tundra has my vote. More advanced power plant, transmission and the brakes are superior. End of story.
My GMC Sonoma is badass!
My raptor is the most bad ass truck I've ever driven.
Spoiled as always once again!
Spoiled as always once again!
Never had a Toyota anything so I won't comment on good vs. bad. I just never understood why you'd name a truck after frozen dirt.
Sorry but James Stewart only has 2 supercross titles and 1 mx title. In the125s he had 2 sx titles and 2 mx titles.
You're right MXDarren... Stewart does not have 6 SX Championships, he has 7! 2003 AMA 125cc West Coast title 2004 AMA 125cc East Coast title 2006 FIM World Supercross Title 2007 AMA SX title 2008 U.S. Open of SX Championship 2008 Paris Bercy SX Championship 2009 AMA SX Title
sorry shippy, but a US Open victory isnt a title. neither is a Bercy race win a title. And noone counts an East or West 125 series a title. Or the "World" supercross. If you add all that junk, Mcgrath has about 15 or maybe more.
