It appears it was more serious than that, as Racer X has learned that the Joe Gibbs Racing MX/Toyota Yamaha rider is set to go under the knife for shoulder surgery, likely tomorrow afternoon.

The winner of last year's Anaheim opener tried to gut it out this time but, after qualifying for the main event, decided it was best not to line up for the main event.
