NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2007)… It came as no surprise that James Stewart took home yet another first-place trophy in Atlanta, capturing his sixth victory in the AMA Supercross Series. In front of a record-breaking crowd of over 70,000 at the Georgia Dome, Stewart broke out in the lead during the first lap and maintained a safe distance throughout the event.
Ricky Carmichael, returning after taking off the last three races, stayed within a few bike lengths of Stewart throughout the race, but he was never able to close the gap and make the pass. After sliding out on the fourth lap,
Chad Reed dropped back to fifth, but he eventually recovered to claim the final podium spot.
All three podium finishers were on Bridgestone brand tires.
