Hunter Whitley Update

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 | 9:05 AM

We just got off the phone with Billy Whitley, who's currently in the hospital with his son Hunter, who suffered a spinal-cord injury last Tuesday. According to Billy, Hunter has not yet seen any improvement, but he's beginning his rehabilitation today and is determined to overcome this injury.

There has been no doctor's prognosis for Hunter's future, but if you ask the 16-year-old, he states his goal without hesitation: "I will walk again."

Billy says the support Hunter and the whole family has received from the motocross industry has been overwhelming, and he'd like to send out his heartfealt appreciation to everyone who has been thinking about Hunter as he undertakes this unexpected challenge.
