The Metal Mulisha Makes a Wish for Alex Lopresti

Thursday, April 27, 2006 | 5:13 AM

We just got this note from Dave Ketcham, the general manager of Escondido Cycle Center / TeamECC.com:

Alex with the Metal Mulisha crew.
Just a note to let the Mulisha haters out there in on a big secret: The guys in the Metal Mulisha may look unapproachable and hardcore, but underneath it all are some of the biggest hearts in our industry.  Yesterday, they made Alex Lopresti forget the fact he is in a battle for his life with cancer, by showing up to deliver his dream bike to him in person. His stock KLX110 was taken in by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and dropped off at Escondido Cycle Center to fulfill his wish to have his bike pimped Mulisha style.  With the parts funded by Make-A-Wish and the labor donated by the ECC Service crew, Alex's bike is now the dream ride he had always hoped for. The cherry on top?  Personal attention and a party with Brian "The Dark Lord" Deegan, Ronnie "Kung Fu" Faisst, Jeremy "Twich" Stenberg, Jeff "Ox" Kargola, and an invite to test his new ride out at the Mulisha Compound. Tons of props for those guys for taking time for a fan in need of some happy times. Ride on, Alex!
