Racer X is very sad to confirm that longtime AMA pro motocross and supercross rider Kevin Crine lost his life this morning in a tragic car accident in southern Maryland. Crine was apparently killed instantly when the Scion he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Several friends of Kevin and his family contacted the office to let us know, as well as to pass on their condolences.

"Motocross mourns the loss of one of its beloved privateers today," wrote Mark Adams of the Southern Maryland Dirt Riders Club. "Kevin Crine, of Southern Maryland, was killed in an auto accident this morning.  Kevin, who called Budds Creek home, was no stranger to the supercross and motocross series and had just recently stepped back from competition to raise his family.  His career had been closely followed by many of us in Southern Maryland and he will be deeply missed."

We will have more information on this tragic accident, include funeral arrangements, as they develop.
