M2R Mourns the Loss of Andy Caldecott, a Great Friend
Thursday, January 19, 2006 | 11:45 AMM2R Sponsored Rider Andy Caldecott Passes During the 28th Running of the Dakar Rally.
In the eyes of M2R Helmets / Made 2 Race and anyone who knew him as a
friend or competitor, Australian Andy Caldecott was nothing less than a
determined, gifted racer and a cordial ambassador for the sport of
motorcycle racing in any genre he competed in during his long career.
Rally racing was Andy’s calling, as he started out dominating the
Australian Safari four years in a row. From there he quickly moved on,
being invited to participate in many other long distance motorcycle
events throughout the world.
The Dakar was the one event he had always had his eyes set on,
receiving an opportunity to compete in 2004, again in 2005, and
tragically in 2006.
Andy Caldecott will be sorely missed by all that knew him, including his friends at M2R.
A memorial trust fund has been set up in support of his wife Tracey and
daughter Caitlin. Anyone wishing to contribute may do so by donating to
