Jeff Alessi breaks both feet
Wednesday, January 18, 2006 | 7:17 AMRed Bull KTM rider Jeff Alessi, the younger of the Alessi brothers,
suffered a set of broken feet on Monday afternoon at Competitive Edge's
supercross practice track. According to the 16-year-old's father, Tony,
Jeff was injured in a complicated triple-triple-triple section after he
spun off the face of one takeoff jump and landed short, jumping off and
landing feet-first on the face of the last jump. He will fly to South
Carolina tomorrow for treatment, hoping to be ready in time for the SX
Lites East Region opener in St. Louis on February 18. The younger
Alessi will be teamed with Josh Hansen in the East; he was filling in
for the previously injured Jay Marmont on the team.
