Amp'd Mobile AMA SX Contingency Near 12 Million Dollars

today that nearly 12 million dollars is available as part of the AMA
Supercross Series contingency program.
To date, 33 companies have posted $11,981,610 in the form of event
contingencies and championship bonuses. American Honda Motor Company
leads the way in available contingency money by offering over $125,000
per event in the Supercross class and over $75,000 in the Supercross
Lites class. Honda offers over $3,248,000 to its Supercross riders,
including championship bonuses. Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha are also
lending major support to the series by making over $5.2 million
available to riders.
Companies including AXO America, Inc., Bridgestone, Cycra Racing,
Dunlop Tires, Ferodo, Fly Racing, Fox Racing, Jardine Products, Leo
Vince USA, M2R Helmets, Maxxis International, Michelin North American,
Monster Energy, MotocrossGuro.com, Oakley Inc., Pirelli Tire, Ready
Racing, Renthal, Scott USA, Shift, Shoei Safety Helmet Corp., Smith
Optics, Spy Optic, Sunline/Arc, Tag Metals America, Universal
Engineering, Vortex, Wiseco Piston and Yoshimura R&D offer
additional support by posting close to $3.5 million combined.

The 2006 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series opens this Saturday, Jan.
7, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., where four-time AMA Supercross
Champion Ricky Carmichael hopes to defend his championship. Other
notable riders include Mike LaRocco, Chad Reed, James Stewart, and Ivan
Tedesco.
