At the ripe age of sixteen, Dan Reardon moved into the pro ranks, but juggling high school with racing temporarily hindered his blooming career. Dan competed in some nationals that were close to home and began seeing his racing as more than a mere hobby. In 2004, Dan embarked on a new chapter of his racing as he finished fifth in the Australian National Motocross Lites Series and second in the Australian National Supercross Lites Series. The following year, he truly let his talent shine when he captured the Australian National Supercross Lites crown. In 2006, Dan kept the ball rolling and successfully defended his Supercross Lites title as well as finishing second in the National Motocross Lites Series. One year later, he added two more titles to his repertoire and found himself tearing up the Las Vegas soil.

Dan’s American debut came at the 2007 US Open, where he certainly made his presence known aboard a SoBe/NoFear/Samsung Honda. The US-rookie was able to hold off SX- champion Chad Reed in his Friday-night heat, win the Saturday-night semi, and finish impressively in fourth place. Dan’s ’07 season finished on a high note in Reno, Nevada, at the final round of the AMA/Toyota Arenacross Championship where he swept both the Lites and Arenacross class races. Dan’s American Supercross career commenced with a bang as he grabbed the holeshot in the main event at Anaheim 1, challenging the front-runners of the 2008 West Coast Lites class through the mud to finish fourth. He piloted his Torco Racing Fuels Honda to round out his pioneer US season in a solid seventh place, including four top-five finishes and seven top-tens.

As the 2008 Toyota AMA National Motocross Series got underway, Dan found himself in the top-ten repeatedly, with his best finish coming under the lights in Lakewood, Colorado where he finished fifth overall. As the series enters its final rounds, Dan sits in thirteenth place due to a shoulder injury that slowed him down and knocked him out of the top-ten. Don’t be surprised to see this Aussie make his way back inside the top-ten before the series comes to a close.  Alyssa Wald
