Blake Wharton has had a very successful amateur career. After getting started as a little boy, he really began to pick up speed when he was about nine or ten years old.
“My first ride as an amateur was with Team Green when I was ten,” Wharton says. “I did pretty well with them and then after a couple years I went to Suzuki. Then I switched to KTM for a year and then I spent my last year as an amateur on a Honda.”
He has won three titles at Loretta Lynn’s as well as championships at Ponca City, the World Mini Grand Prix, Lake Whitney, Oak Hill, the Mini Olympics and the FIM Junior World Cup in Bulgaria. David Pingree
