Angel Stadium of Anaheim has hosted more Monster Energy AMA Supercross events than any other building in the world. That’s how Anaheim became the series’ home away from home
WORDS: DAVEY COOMBS
On a side street in Anaheim, California, not far from the “Big A” of Angel Stadium, is a tiny, rundown motel called the Angel. It’s been there longer than the stadium itself has, and the years show. Despite its proximity to the stadium and “extended term” options, it’s doubtful that many supercross fans have stayed there—which is a shame, because it’s as close to the epicenter of Monster Energy AMA Supercross as you can stay (and probably much cheaper than most options too). While the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum may be the cradle of supercross, Angel Stadium is its capital—a home away from home, even—right in the heart of the U.S. motorcycle industry.
