Well the first moto is over and Billy and I sprinted back to the media center to fill you in. James took care of business but it wasn't easy. The weather gave us some light sprinkles this morning for a couple of hours and first few laps were sketchy as dudes were sliding out and spinning everywhere. James just stayed behind World Champion David Phillipparts before figuring the track out and making the move. It was one of those deals where the harder you gassed it and charged, the more mistakes you made. Even though it wasn't easy, Stewart left no doubt he is, was and will be the man today. He rode subdued I think, mostly because of the track conditions. The Bubba scrub stayed in the paddock and he was all business
Ryan Villopoto was in fifth before going down on the first lap in the back and he had his work cut out for him. RV was about 26th reached down and came through the pack to salvage the race for America. He also almost passed Searle at the finish, these two riders went 1-2 in the MX2 class. It was an interesting bit of drama when RV caught Chad Reed and we all wondered how this battle was going to go down but to me, it looked like Reedy went to the outside and just let RV go. These two will begin their fight at Anaheim I suppose.
France's guy Anthony Boissiere was very good, which I should've figured from yesterdays race. His teammate Sebastian Pourcel was also impressive, moving up from fifth or so to second. He was even catching Stewie at one point! A guy named Julien Bill from Switzerland was up there but I noticed he got stuck in neutral a whole bunch! Thanks alot, tip your waiters, I'll be here all week.
