Something unique happened at the Jacksonville Supercross in the Lites main event: the top five lap times came from riders aboard five different brands of bikes, with newly-crowned champion Christophe Pourcel leading the way with a 53.480 on his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki. Second was GEICO Powersports Honda’s Blake Wharton, followed by Division 7/Star Yamaha’s Broc Tickle, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Nico Izzi, and Muscle Milk/MDK KTM’s Wil Hahn. All five of these riders were within four-tenths of a second of each other, and the top eight rider were all within a second. Check out the rest of the field’s fastest lap times from the Jacksonville supercross below.
Biggest surprise? Let’s give credit to Warthog Racing Academy’s Cody Gilmore, who posted the 12th best time in the Lites class on his way to a 15th.

AMA Supercross
Once again James Stewart showed that he was the fastest supercross rider on the planet, winning his tenth main event of the 2009 season and logging the fastest lap time of the entire night along the way. James laid down a 51.742 on lap five while tracking down Chad Reed, who was second fastest on the night. And props to GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham, who was the third fastest on his way to a podium finish—his second of the season. Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short was fourth fastest, followed by Yamaha teammates Josh Hill and Broc Hepler.
Biggest surprise? I’m going with Canidae/Motosport Kawasaki’s Tommy Hahn. After taking the long road into the main event, Hahn posted some solid lap times—he had the 12th fastest main event time—on his way to his best AMA Supercross class finish of seventh.
