The Pala Raceway's Holiday Grand Prix will be an off road race that will incorporate most of Pala Raceway's tracks, trails, and access roads. During the roughly five mile loop, racers will be forced to navigate through high speed sections, the Main and Amateur motocross tracks, tight trails in the upper portion of the site, dreaded boulder sections, sand washes, and much more over the course of a 45 minute plus 1 lap moto that will test man and machine.

Morgantown, W.Va. - Racer Productions, producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, has announced the proposed rules for the 2010 tour in the XC1 and XC2 pro classes.
These proposed pro rules are tentative, and will not be finalized until the GNCC Rider Meetings that follow the GNCC Awards Banquet on December 4-5. This allows the GNCC community time to view the rules and allow for a public comment period.
The most significant proposals highlighted are for the bike classes. Racer Productions has established a minimum age requirement that will be implemented over a one-year grace period. The 2010 minimum age requirement for the XC2 Pro Lites class will be 15 years old and 17 years old for the XC1 Class. In 2011, these ages will increase to 16 and 18 years old for the respective classes.
The second proposal for bikes allows the use of 250 two-strokes in the XC2 Pro Lites Class. This change is consistent with the AMA Amateur Racing Rulebook.
The proposed rules can be viewed by clicking here.
After the banquet rider's meeting the tentative amateur rules will be posted for public comment as well.
To provide suggestions or comment on the proposed rules, please email Technical Manager Jeff Canfield at Jcanfield@gnccracing.com. Jeff Canfield, Race Director for MX Sports Pro Racing, has been recently assigned to the position of Technical Manager for GNCC Racing.
The 2010 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series begins with the West Gate River Ranch GNCC in River Ranch, Florida, which runs February 27 through March 2, as part of Bike Week.
For more information, check out the official series website at www.GNCCRacing.com or call 304-284-0084.

After hearing the disappointing news that James Stewart was forced to withdraw from the 25th annual Genoa, Italy Supercross (taking place November 28th), the Genoa SX promoters went to work trying to get a rider or two to compete in James’ place. Although James is not a rider that can be replaced and the Italian crowd was excited to see the Monster Energy AMA Supercross champion in action, they’re proud to announce the additions of Jeremy McGrath, Justin Brayton and Josh Grant to event.
McGrath, the well known King of Supercross, as well as the sport’s all time winningest rider, has recently been competing in select rounds of the Australian Super X series. The timing of his solid second place finish this past weekend behind last year’s Monster AMA Supercross champion Chad Reed should give the Italian crowd something to look forward to. McGrath has competed in Genoa in the past and is really looking forward to going back.
Josh Grant is coming off the best season of his career after making the transition to the 450 class full time in 2009 with the mighty Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha (JGR) team. Grant rewarded the team with their (and his) first ever premier class wins in Supercross and Motocross by winning the Anaheim opener as well as the Red Bud national earlier this summer. Grant is also a veteran of Genoa, having won the event the last time he was there in 2006.
Justin Brayton recently signed up to be Grant’s teammate at JGR and his first race for the team was a very impressive win in Paris, France at the world renowned Bercy Supercross. Brayton placed a solid second in the event last year, before going on to take the “King of Bercy” crown this year in his debut ride for his new team. Brayton also opened a lot of eyes at this year’s X-Games by jumping to the 450 bike for KTM and taking home an impressive silver medal in the coveted Moto X competition.
While we’re disappointed with James having to pull out, we think that with the new additions to the show, it will be a great race for this 25th annual Supercross in Genoa as these super stars of Supercross join some of Europe’s top Supercross riders to compete for the win. The promoters would like to wish James Stewart a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action at the opening round of the Monster AMA Supercross series in Anaheim 1 on January 9th, as well as hopefully having him back in Italy next year.

In reaction to recent postings on some websites (including this one), Gautier Paulin’s manager, Glen Dempsey, had this to say:
“Gautier has not signed any agreement with Yamaha Star Racing and moreover we have no link to their partners as this would be in direct conflict with some of our existing sponsors and partners. We are indeed discussing an AMA-SX Lites program for Gautier for the first few rounds with the help of Yamaha and Yamaha Star Racing but separate to their current structure and partners.”
