Bench Racing Ammo: MEC Entry Lists
Tuesday, October 9, 2012 | 10:15 AMThe second-annual Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas promises to be a big night, with superstars like Ryan Villopoto and Chad Reed making their return to racing after injuries, Ryan Dungey in the mix, Lites riders like Blake Baggett, Justin Barcia, Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin jumping up to the big class, and a ton of others going for a potential $1 Million (James Stewart is on the entry list, but he just got back on the bike last week following his Unadilla crash. Hopefully JS7 stays away. I'd hate to see him get in the way of the real racers.
week and a half!!! going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG dry spell after this race till A1.
So many on that list that could win if things go their way!! RD should be the Fav. I don't think Reed will do well cuz he always seems to start the season slow the first few rounds before he gets rollin. RV ..I would not be shocked to see him win a race or more same with JB, ET and a few others but to win all 3 this year would be VERY hard to pull off.
Glad to see all the front runners back in action!
BillC your right I don't think we will see one rider dominate like last year.
If I had to pick one guy to do it I would go with Barcia I think he's going to do great on the big bike.
The anticipation grows as the race approaches, even more so after viewing the who's who of motocross list above. It is a one of race, no points chase, just a Big money race. Who will throw caution to the wind and lay it on the line? To the winner goes the spoils, the bragging rites and title of Monster Energy Cup Champion, plus he will be considered an preseason favorite for the 2013 Supercross Championship.
Some are entering to see how they stack up against the rest, some are racing to find settings for their new ride, while some are going out to win a Million dollars as RV did last year. It ought to be a wild one as, Barcia, Tomac, and Baggett want to show Villopoto, Reed, Dungey, and Stewart they will be in for a fight come January.
Sure wish I could be in Vegas, it is going to be a very entertaining evening when the stars collide going for the MILLION!!!
Any time there is a SX or MX race on, it is a good weekend. Heck, even the re-runs saved on my DVR are pretty darn good entertainment in the slow months without races.
These guys race 17 SX races, 12 MX races and the MEC. 30 weekends out of 52 racing all over the country. We are pretty lucky to have this much to watch.
This is gonna be good! And really glad Speed is broadcasting it live too! Didn't see Canard's name on the list. Guess he's not ready to go yet?
#7 not confirmed, such a Diva.
Stoked on Reed though, I'll throw some money down on CR22 winning one.
Why dont pasta puss and the dutch wankster come race this now that there the fastest in the world????? LOL bring nagl, bobby and desalle with ya!!!!! PLEASE G.P. guys we will let you line up with the amateur all stars to be fair!!!
@ YZchris you mean you'd hate to see him win> With a name like yz , you just upset he left Yamaha. Anyways I dont JS should race if he just got on the bike last week. Where is TreY CANARD? I thought he was back riding a while ago. If I had to pick early favorite , my money is on Chad REED
nobody really thought RV would win all three last year either.. RD's world will be tougher this time out on the brand new KTM.....of course Havoc isn't confirmed...when was the last time he just lined up without some Prince BS style hoohah....I hope he and Reed just come out swinging and go for second trying to catch JB....bummed not to see the Ducks name up there....glad Kroc is comin ...wheres the rest of the supereuros on their brand new unproven KTMs ,...should be a cherry pick for em....@jgbvr lol uh oh...expect to hear from Casey.....
Barcia is a Great pic, he gets great starts and the short 10 laps mains will be easy with a holeshot.
Tonewall i said RV could win all 3 last year cuz untill RD signed up on the unproven KTM at the last min who was there that could beat him? Can't say that this year, Field is way to deep to say anyone WILL win all 3. It will take 3 great starts and a little luck maybe. But If RV, JB ect holeshot all 3 and don't fall it can be done but the odd have got to be pretty high.
can't wait. This is as stacked as it gets! Not like that price bercy arenacross crap. Good point jgbvr! Anyway, if Rv is in the same shape as before he got hurt and gets top 5 starts, night is over for everyone:) he'll take that million
This should be interesting night. I don't think Poto is going to win all 3 this time. But I'll take another night of racing on the telly any time!
My money is on RD.This coming from a 22 fan.
I think we all know nobody is winning a cool mil this yr. If Chad's not winning he is gonna take out the winning guy.
@dgizzy lol! As for my RV comment above, not racing for that long, it's a big"IF"... If someone wins a million this time, hats off to that guy! And thats a huge "IF"
Or if Cairoli joins this race, he'll just sweep it like he did@mxdn on his practice track ;)
Also,i think that Rd will be fired up after mxdn. So look for some fireworks from him!
I'm surprised no one has picked KDub to win yet.
I hope you are joking Crossup!!!
BillC Yeah and I suppose you picked Hansen LOL.........
@ jgbvr; Still hurting from the ass whooping I see.
My guess is RV will win. Maybe not all 3 but he'll come out on top. Baker will have him show up 110% like A1 last year. He knows how to show up ready after injury. Reedy not so much however, he will take a few races to warm up.
AC has had more seat time than Kdub and Reynard combined he could do sx or mx if they choose to run him..............Mitch is no fool welll maybe.....LOL ! but smart enough to gage his talent.........
dirt bikes is more than one sand track thats all im saying and mxon didnt prove shyt in my eyes!
Too bad Dean Wilson isnt healed up to race, be cool to see him on the 4 fitty before A1.
No Goerke...... No Townley............No Teddy Maier........ No Philthy Phil.......No Mike Brown........No J Alessi (LOL)......
@DuluthMN, are there any good places left to ride in the area outside of Brookston? Have not been there in years but thought with Amsoil headquarters in Superor there might be more MX tracks. Just curious.
Picking Dungey over Poto or Barcia? I expect some disappointed people on here with a lot of excuses the next few weeks after the cup.
Dungey will get a solid 3rd. Old man 22 will stay in a consistent fourth. While the rest of you watch that i will be watching BamBam and Poto up front.
@ JonR290 Thanks for the inquiry. I only lived there about 1 yr.... I live down in the SE. US By Mr-Mx ............I'm with him know playing cards............ MR-MX Says Hi to all............He still cant use the keyboards with hands taped up...............You should see him play cards.....I wish they would of taped his mouth shut. LOL ! Well we came up with a few but it was too big to send thru this site so here is a couple.....

Since we see AC all the time I know his mom and dad MR-MX ALSO. We have seen this kid since he started, We both think that if he stays true and motovatied the record books could be re written.........Time will tell..................Se you all at the Monster Cup we leave about 10 days early...............
Rv will win but Rd will win 1 segment...............
@jgbvr Chin up mate :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtd2w3wtSAA
DuluthMN I hear he has been training with J-Law!!! he could crush everyone!!
DuluthMN Please give MrMx a shout out for me, glad to hear he is recovering and will be good as new soon....Just as racing missed RV, CR, TC, the message boards have been lacking, we all miss the unique insight he brings to us with his posts...
The races will go something like this:
Race 1 - RD, RV JB, CR,ET
Race 2 - JB, RD, CR, RV, KRoc
Race 3 - RV, CR, RD, KRoc, JB
Yes tell him hi for me too!!
Thank you jamma10 that was refreshing. i do enjoy a good laugh even if it hurts deep down.
I have to agree with Billc on the long wait till' A1, lets hope for some good racing so we know we have something to look forward to in 2013. and my pick is definitely RD5 or BB4, but i dont think that Baggett will get all three motos but i like him the most out of the new 450 riders,(good number pick by the way, he is one of the only ones that could live up to that) and RV might have something to say, but i totally have to say Dungey.
Can't wait to see most of the top guys back in action but as always and especially on this track, you're just about done if you don't get a great start. I'd rather them shorten the track to make it wider for passing lanes and add laps. It's possible to see any one of the guys holeshot and block for 10 laps and he may not even be the fastest one out there. I know RV made some quick passes last year but there was not too much of it going on behind him and before you know it, the race is over. I guess we'll have to wait to see what the joker lane does. Just my opinion but that's why I like outdoor tracks so much, although if it has two wheels with knobs on them, I like all the races.
@motoman bagget is not riding a 450, dean wilson and justin barcia are the ones moving up. To my knowledge the only 2 racing a 450 that dont normally are bogle and tomac, but Ive seen nothing about bagget riding a 450
This season is gonna be crazy guys you normally see on the podium every week are not gonna be there every week due to the limited places on it, dungey will still struggle they may have made progress on the KTM but they are still far from finished on handling issues , RV is gonna pick up right were he left off, barcia is gonna shock some people, stewart will have his moments of greatness, the question marks are reed, wilson, and canard
