I'm not so sure about the whole "Team P.R." thing.

Yeah, it's great that there's a few more Americans on the gate and maybe it raises the speed quotient of the event up a notch but, put the shoe on the other foot.

What if team ??? sends a "B team" to run interference for them? What if Team Ireland doesn't make the A-main because of someone else's second team? What if every host country adds a second team for ticket sales? What if P.R. gave temporary staus to Stewart, Villopoto and Tomac for the event?

I know there's a fine line (for some) between the spirit of this competition and the percentages of profit. Some promoters would chuck any standing law, whether written or otherwise, to spice up the bottom line while dumping on the traditions of this hallowed event.

Does it bother me less because the U.S. is doing it? Kind of, but that is the point. Imagine the situation being turned 180 out and it takes on a different flavor.

All that said, I hope the team riders get what they are after from their participation.

Puerto Rico is a U S territory so Team PR riders must have a U S passport -- Team PR is not breaking any laws to field a team and does so at great sacrifice with limited resources -- best of luck to all competitors and best wishes for a full recovery to Albertson

Albertson, Chisolm. I always have so much trouble pronouncing these Spanish surnames.

If they wanted to, UK could field more than one team. Scotland, Wales are as much their own country as PR. I know Holland and France still have some islands here and there.
