I though 250SX points would count this year for the first time?
I wish ya had to earn it like the old days.
The good old days of National numbers was epic. I loved trying to find them first and memorize them as a kid...and it was very cool when a local got a number. Just one of the things I miss....oh, and two strokes :)
And what is Jason Lawrence's number?????
His California Prisoner Number???
yes yes, actually running the # you earned was a way to see who was who.
Interesting that Wilson would have had to run a 3 digit # as he scored no points (that count towards a # anyways) and Alessi has NEVER run a #.
Just bring it back to the way it was and if fans can't figure things out, send them a bottle of bleach to chug, so we don't have to deal with people that dumb!
also if I'm Alessi/Tickle/Weimer, I'd be pissed to have earned such a low # and can't even use it - assuming they care about that thing.
Durham running a 3 digit!! Canard #78!!
I agree with everyone here, bring the old numbering system back. I mean, Mike Brown running number three...come on! I could see that being Villopoto's or Brayton's, not Brownie. But as much as I HATE the 'new' system, it's crazy that Dowdy and Brown can still beat all these young kids.
I remember the AMA and MXA were a big proponent of this foolish system, (wanted to emulate nascar of all things) now they (MXA) want it returned to how it used to be - good for them to admit a wrong...to the lay person you could come to the track and see the number five and know he scored the fith most points prior...now you got some old dude (just kidding Mike) showing up with a number 3 on his bike (to earn the 25 points) and in no way is he "The Number Three" guy
This is from the 2012 SX rulebook. It looks like they will count 250SX points toward the total.:
The total combined points from the Supercross,
(Supercross Lites for 2013 numbers), MX 450 and MX
250 classes will be used to determine the order. National
numbers are then issued according to highest to lowest total
points. In case of riders having the same amount of total
points the tie is broken by the best Moto finish for those
riders. In the event you have a rider that rode just SX and
one that rode SX and Motocross, the tie would go to the
rider that rode both series
You old school guys need to get with the times, the old numbering system is dead. Its an amateurish way to number riders, anyways. I mean seriously, what other sport do you know besides cycling that assigns numbers?
seefood, seefu, kungfu what ever the hell, you going to get panties all in a wad over a number system, damn how bout throwing me some of that bud you spoke about i feel like getting stupid, you know all them supercross fans and national fans are just a bunch of beer drinking dope smoking rednecks there to get a look a the monster girls and all the little mx groupies that follow the riders around in there daisy dukes saying look at me, you want to keep up with numbers, you know why they put a fence around the track, to keep the drunks from wondering out there.
