Thats why I love the Dunge. Not a phenom like JS, but the dude has worked himself into contention. They were straight haulin'!

I've been bummed before about Dungey not making the pass, but you can't say a bad word about him this last weekend, he clearly gave it everything he had. He was trying everything, awesome racing.

I want to give a little love to Dave Coombs, in the 2nd 450 moto, he was down helping out a rider suffering from heat exhaustion, that dude was spent, I think it was #554 Livesay.Hopefully he was okay? DC helped him out getting water on him, his boots and helmet off, etc. till the Asterisk crew got there.

Then after that same moto, he was back down in the same area and helped a rider push his bike back after he ran out of gas, I think that was #565 Preston Mull. That dude was really excited, even though he was hot as hell, he said he just got his first national points, DC high fived him, gave him a bottle of water and took his bike for him and started pushing it back for him. Mull even helped him push it from behind. Too all the guys working the races, hats off, you guys really help put on a great show for all the fans!!

P.S. before any of you get on Coombs, the dude wasn't out there riding around the track in a cart, I only saw him walking all around during the races. I've been to Freestone 3 of the last 4 years and I think the events just continue to improve.

Great race Stewart, Dungey is gonna have to twist that throttle a little harder on the KTM if he wants to beat Stewart, can't remember ever seeing Dungey crash, Stewart used to crash all the time, but then again remember the old saying " if you don't crash you're not trying hard enough" I think thats the case with Dungey, he's afraid to hang it out, if he wants to win bad enough he's going to have to, Stewart has another gear yet & thats where he may make mistakes also. Great ride for Tomac, looks like him & Baggett are gonna battle all year long!

@ mbl1970- thanks for positive information there on ole DC. he seems to take a beating on certain forums and most people seem to overlook when the good stuff is done.

Why is this track so fast and flat, it really does suck, no elevation change at all. The average speed is so fast for the top guys, I wonder if they r running 14 tooth sprockets........

Clearly a race many will remember for a long time. Dungey did everything right and I don't think he could have hung it out more. To push harder and crash would have been the Stupid thing to do. Could have been hurt or taken them both out. It was a near perfect race for both James and Ryan.
