Wow, amazing job. Also, er, Holeshot!
my first bike was a Yamaha DT100, my Uncle bought for me for a $100. We put alot of time and sweat into that old rat. We used a platic saucer sled and a heat gun to mold a new rear fender, A foam nerf football and duct tape to fill in the holes on the seat. And some old long johns and a pipe clamp for an air filter straight into the carb. Needless to say she still starts on one kick and provides hours of fun in the trails. Not to mention it has out lasted my kx60, yz80, yz 125, and cr250f. I guess they just dont buil them like they used to...............Great to see a classic saved and resurerected. Keep it up
Thats nice. Good job,Joe.
SWEET!
wow. that thing looks amazing!
Gee back at the shop in 73 I had to work on some of those things and some of then looked worse than the before pic already lol
I too had the DT100. I got it new as a kid and stripped the lights, blinkers, etc. before I ever even started it. It just ran and ran.
That thing is beautiful! Great job.
Is the engine and suspension as healthy and revived to match the great bike look.
Man that can't be the same bike! GREAT JOB! And the black rims
are awesome!
Great job!!!!! I'm sure it is alot of enjoyment and pride on this bike restore...Do you keep the bikes after restoring, or sell them??
I loved those 73' yammies, it was right when I was getting into riding. The enduros each had a different color tank for each displacement, and the mx'ers with the silver tank and a different color stripe for each. The 74's were even cooler. The mx tanks were the best looking ever imo.
That thing looks trashed in the first picture. You must have spent a fortune, and many hours, nice job.
Get bike, it was also my first bike, same color !
Bratstyle, love it, very cool
Super nice bike! Looks super smooth.
Hey:
Thanks everybody for the comments and especially thanks to Matt and his team for featuring this bike and also for the hard work they do to support the 2wheel industry.
I generally just pick out a dumpster bike that someone is throwing away and interested me at one time or another and hammer it into what I think it should look like. After that, I just ride them till someone decides they want to own it.
Restorations and customs are expensive and time consuming to do correctly. I am always looking for the next "project", whether is is for myself or a client.
Thanks again
JR
Very cool Joe. I used to have a AT1-125, it was blue but other than that it looked just like it. I remember how powerful it felt after moving up off of my GT-80!!
Wow! what did that cost to restore?? Amazing job.
I wanna see a restored SC500 scrambler- here are some cool vintage shots

I won woods runs, MX and dirt track all on one of these. The only changes I made was to chage tires.
I want to know where he goes dumpster diving!!! I love to do things like this but never have the time to look around for new subjects..... Great job, it is a true piece of historical art. Well Done!!
Had the exact bike. Was my 2nd and my 1st full-size. Wonderful. Then I went to watch a buddy race in a local MX..... and it was clear I was going places she couldn't. But she helped by bringing more than I paid and financed a new Super Rat. I missed her so much that a few yeas later I bought the infamous YZ175..... which, as anyone who had one will understand, was my last Yamaha. How the 125 could be so good and the 175 so wicked is a question for NASA. But I digress...
