These tracks look more stupid each and every race. who the hell designs this shit? i could easily create much better tracks and tracks you can actually pass on..

Daytona without the long fast start straight is weird, and is the first turn really between the finish line jumps? should be awesome as usual though. I guess red arrow is out for this week, I was hoping to see his technique through the rough Daytona sand.

Hey just maybe no 50 second lap times gonna take the fittest and fastest to win wirth the usual pinch of luck from the little motocross angel.

Track looks good but I look forward to those vids every week?

Lookis like another first turn pile-up is in the works to me!!! Got to get away from 90 degree first turns. Putting all the focus on the start is getting old in supercross. But I do love Daytona, especially live!!

That first turn is going to me a MF man. Should be a good track if it stays dry. Any rain makes that place a swamp.

@Joe

Really? Take a look at the picture again, you'll see who designed it. Daytona is always a sick track, cant wait

I think racer x needs to have an online contest for all those "i could do it better bros" to actually showcase all there onscreen talent. Then post the results each week so everyone can tell talented ones just how bad their ideas actually suck.. Just my opinion.

I cant really tell from the picture but if that first turn, finish line jump landing is like a wall there will be another pile up like houston.

For all you idiots that think passing will be too difficult on this track, shut up because you have no idea what you're talking about. All the best passes come in the whoop sections and 180 degree bowl turns. How many of those do we see on this track? Passing will be happening left and right come Friday. Dayton is usually a wide track in comparison to the other races. Why are there always so many ignorant haters? Carmichael designed this track. He won a couple races back in his day, so I think he definitely knows what he's doing when he's entrusted to design a track.

Next year, they should make the start straight the length of the infield, and have them go on it each lap. But also have really tight sections, so there is no "perfect" way to have the bike geared. They would have to decide which is more important: long straight or tight sections

This goes to joe and the others who think they are much better at designing tracks. Put something together and submit it to Ping. Here is the catch. You have to use one of the SX tracks we have left to race on. Make sure you leave room for scoring tower, T.V. cameras, track workers, medical vehicles, etc. Also, take into consideration amount of dirt available and quality. I am not gonna talk sh!t on you until I see what you can do.

Red Arrow is healing up this week. Chad Reed took him out in a turn during practice before Atlanta. Red Arrow said Reed was practicing taking out Bubba and making it look like Bubbas fault. While practicing for the Stewart take out Reed came in a lil to close on Red Arrow and ended up hurting Red Arrows wrist. I think red Arrow is considering switching teams. He might be Blue Arrow when he comes back!!!

A track worthy of Daytona...a mixture of high and lo speed sections combined with alternating soil mixtures creating a challenging course for the racers... I can't wait for the race...

Hey all you CR haters get off his dick ok.. We all seen the blue falgs waving for half a lap b4 his team mate besides to check up on a bowl turn ? yeah you know Bubbas half child !! So it was nice to see some one dont take bubba i am the fastest man live BS. Dont get me wrong i love his riding its sick !! But get off his dick already if he was the fastest why is he not winning evry race huh .As for the track at Daytona looks sick yes the first turns looks like more pile up city so you better be the first there.. as for other idiots that think they can build better tracks.. Do you even ride a bike dumb asses !! The race will be great and thats it...

Hey "Get a life". I think I speak for all of us respectable MX fans when I say that people like yourself are an embarrassment to our sport. You write like a rider that's hit the dirt head-first more times than Pastrana (or maybe your simply illiterate) and your poor choice of words to get your point across don't belong here. Can I get an ah'men?!

I love that start straight that comes towards the grandstands, how original. Passing has never been a problem at daytona, since there is so much real estate to work with. maybe THIS will be the race of all races.

could...could it be ....that daytona is not a monster energy sponsored event? Doesn't someone like Honda sponsor this event ( in the recent past )

Alright first of all, I'm pretty sure Arenacross tracks have longer starts than that.. as to the person who says "take a look at who designed it" it doesnt matter if his name is Ricky Carmichael. yea he was a god damn legend and my favorite rider, but my personal opinion is that this track is terrible. Everything is going to be one lined. I will admit, some passing will be done through the whoops, but to the person who says passing is down in 180 degree corners, its going to be sand.. its different squaring it up in sand and your basically going to have to pull a chad reed if you want to pass anyone in the 180 degree corners.. "Sar Castic" i will gladly build you a much sicker track than this. tell me your address and I guarantee I could create a better track than this in half an hour. and for Eddie Casillas- Ping is part of Racer X.. a MAGAZINE company, he doesn't work for Feld Motorsports you dumb ass so why don't you rethink that solution. If someone gives me the email to Feld Motorsports or to whoever is in charge of creating these supercross tracks, I will GLADLY submit one and rub it in all of your faces on how Chad Reed, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Trey Canard would all love it because I would make it so you can actually have a fair race even if a rider got a bad start.. Thank you.

Based on this one picture, how can anyone determine how good or bad this track is? I think RC knows what he's doing.

Joe- I would really like to see your wonderful track designs. Feld wouldn't publish those beautiful pieces of work on their website as that is not what their website is set up for. But, Racer X is and being that I am pretty tight with Ping I could give him a heads up that you will being sending those Van Gogh's over. Remember, you have to adhere by the rules stated in my previous post.
If I am not mistaken I believe the Daytona layout is somewhat restricted due to some underground infrastructure ie. drain pipes that the track builders have to take into consideration. Something Mr. Joe probably didn't think of.
Look forward to checking out your stuff.

Its too hard to tell if this start is short or not by this drawing, I love the Idea of them coming in from nascar pit road so that they use less space on the grass so they can have more room for a bigger track just like the old Daytona supercrosses, It would be sweet if the let them put dirt on the black top of pit road that alone is gotta be 3 or 4 car lengths wide and add the center of the grass section and you got a long start!!!! We need the old 2min. plus lap times, dont forget Daytona is wide so the first turn which is 90 deg. won't be as bad as many are saying and that landing ramp which they go over prob won't be as big as people are making it out to be, they did the same thing last year and both starts went good. Oh yeah there are tons of 180s and Whoops so this track will be great, Its gonna be epic weather looks good from here on out 2!!

B-KR wrote: 6:43am March 3, 2011

How do people see so much in stupid little graphic of the track? Oh, look, they apparently are opening up all the stands as I don't see an empty seat either! Red Arrow is contracted with Feld. Daytona is the only event not under Feld's control. Red Arrow had to sit out this week due to contactual obligations. I heard the real truth is he doesn't like the outdoor style tracks.

Profile Picture
endoman wrote: 8:20am March 3, 2011

The Daytona race isn't one of those Feld races, it's AMA or DMG or some other letters, so I think Redd Arrow couldn't work out a deal with this promoter. He pulled a Pourcel on them. I remember waaaaaay back the track used to actually cross the asphalt to include another section. Aw, crap!!! As I'm typing this, I see B-KR was putting the same info about Red. Drat, asleep at the gate again.

The track looks dumb long fast start to pile them up in the first turn then roll a landing, and whats up with all the woops not rickys best design.

SlayinSlitsSince86 wrote: 4:06pm March 3, 2011

This track looks better than the first couple rounds this year, they seem to get better every week in my opinion. And ya, how can you tell how long the start is by a stupid lil map that's prob not even to scale? Maybe it is idk, but last weeks start was almost the full length of the stadium so who cares if this week is a short start. I think RC is just trying to do something different with the space they have to work with and I love that he is still designing tracks. I think that's a smart move on the AMA's part and I'm looking forward to another good weekend of sx racing.
Hopefully Reed and Villopoto can get good starts, I'd love to see Chad get another win.

Mr. JOE didnt think of it because he doesnt know all the variables that the track builders and designers have to deal withj. And how can you tell if the track is going to be good or bad from this drawing?? And how can you tell how wlong the start will be?? I do hate the 90 degree turns after tha start though. It makes the start about 60% of winning the race. If Stewie Reed or RV2 get a big holeshot, the race is going to be practically over unless the leader goes down.

Mr Joe is one of the few that stink these forums up, the track looks AWESOME, go look at the photos from today, the start is perfect over 200'. LOVE it coming straight at the crowd. The shape that we have to work with limits the design but this one is different and a home run ! Kudos to RC !!! can't wait til tomorrow night. Why is there always an asshole that is so negative in this great sport- love this season and the articles and racerx !!
