R.I.P. Robert S. Cozine

Thursday, September 9, 2010 | 6:25 AM

We received this note from Garret Krieger:

Robert "Bob" S. Cozine, 55, of Iowa City died Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Princeton, IL following a heart attack.
Bob was a motocross race enthusiast. He was a gifted mechanic, "hobby" farmer, hunter and conservationist. Bob was a member of Whitetails Unlimited and the Iowa City Competition Riders. He was a regular donor and volunteer for the Mississippi Valley Blood Bank. He was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School and received his associates degree from Kirkwood Community College. Bob married Theresa Naughton on May 28, 1977. Bob was also a long time Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Bob was a loving husband, father and brother. He was proud to become a grandfather with the arrival of Tanner.

Tracks he rode at in the 70's included Wendy Oaks, Tipton Hills, and Wild Country. He was with us almost every weekend since Marissa (daughter) started racing when she was 14. When she started racing he was so excited to be back on the mx scene again.

He raced in the late 70's, rode a Kawasaki. He has raced or rode ever since. Has mentored a ton of kids riding at his track too, gave advice and encouragement to them all.
