Ivan Tedesco Will Not Race U.S. Open
Thursday, October 8, 2009 | 9:05 AM
Racer X has learned that Team USA hero Ivan Tedesco will sit out this weekend's U.S. Open of Supercross at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Tedesco, winner of the Thunder Valley National earlier this summer, is one of several top riders who does not have a deal in place for 2010. He has ridden for the Honda Red Bull Racing team the last two years, but with budget cutbacks and an expiring contract, he was the odd-man-out after the team came to terms with Andrew Short and Davi Millsaps. (Ben Townley is also no longer with Honda Red Bull Racing.) Team USA has been 3-0 in Tedesco's three appearances ('05, '06, '09) but injuries on the domestic front hindered his success the past two years on the AMA circuit.
