New Berlin, NY – The ninth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship was a success for North Racing Inc. (NRi), as they became the most successful non-factory team at Unadilla.

NRi fielded two riders at Unadilla: newly acquired Robbie Marshall and 5’4”, 130 lb. Jimmy Decotis.

Marshall, who signed just one week before Unadilla, made a great first impression as the newest NRi rider and quite a splash with the best finish in his four year pro career in the 450 class. Marshall qualified with a 2:09.9 lap time, the 13th fastest time in the field of 60 riders.

In his first moto, Marshall gained 10 positions before going down on the 9th lap, resulting in a 29th finish. In his second moto, Marshall advanced 9 positions and finished an impressive 10th. Overall, Marshall advanced 19 positions, earning him the Muscle Milk Recovery Award and a respectful 16th overall for the day.

Decotis, following a disappointing 17th overall at Loretta Lynn’s, redeemed himself by qualifying 27th out of 60 riders in his first pro event. In his first moto, Decotis came out of the holeshot 22nd. Following a fall on the 9th lap Decotis battled with the heat and decided to remove his goggles mid-race. Finishing with no eye protection, Decotis managed a respectable 23rd finish in his first Pro National.

In his second moto, Decotis advanced 11 positions to finish an impressive 19th. The real story of the day, however, was that Decotis was once again forced to remove his goggles mid-race and complete the second moto with no eye protection. His aggressive spirit was put to the test amidst the flying rocks and dirt in his face. Decotis did not disappoint, as he passed world-renowned Geico Powersports Honda rider Kevin Windham without goggles to place in the top 20.

After asking Decotis what he thought about his first national experience he replied, “I passed Kevin Windham without goggles, I’m stoked!”

Decotis and Marshall would like to thank Keene Motorsports, Moto Nut Racing, Factory Connection, Bell Helmet, TSS Graphics, ICW, Bridgestone, Kenny G’s Performance Tuning, FOX, Renthal, Pro Circuit, Spectro Performance Oils, JP3 Graphics, and Pirelli.

North Racing Incorporated is headquartered in North Attleboro, MA and race in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series.
